We open things up to hear from you. A free for all.

The 320th edition of the open forum!

We are going to start the retirement of the open forum. Make sure to sign up for the CHU Forum so you don’t miss out on the conversation. The ice and the forum are open to anyone and everyone, of course, unless you have been trolling the site with nasty comments, then we really do not care to hear from you.

Love to hear what you’re buying and selling this week.

Did you know we have the forum up and running, you can check it out at the official CHU Forum site, go over and sign up.

As always we also want to hear about your weekly pickups.
So, What were your pick ups?

  1. Tomorrow will be a big new comic pick up day. It’s been light the last few weeks. Looking forward to Venom, everything Star Wars, Shang Chi, Immortal Hulk, Strange Academy (back to back weeks, lol) and Future State Batman.I am also picking up Sea Of Sorrows 3. Not sure anyone else is reading it. A very underrated comic. No one is really talking about.

  2. I guess it is getting too late to finish my Sandman run inexpensively. I picked up 6 & 7 the day before the cast announcement hit. I went back to look at 9-12 and they were sold. I’m 9 issues shy.

I picked up a run of Swamp Thing 81-99 to fill in some of my Swamp Thing run. This run has an ad for Sandman 1 in 81 and an early Morpheus appearance outside of Sandman in 84. I already had 84, but it doesn’t hurt to have a second copy.

I picked up a copy of The Wandering Stars 1, pre-Sandman Sam Kieth (‘87).

I also picked up copies of Otazine 1, James Stokoe’s first published work and Batman Annual 5 with Stokoe art.

I’ve cut back on what I buy, but I’m still picking up these books when they come out:

    Monstress
    Serial
    Psychdrama Illustrated
    Love & Rockets
    Rat Queens
Anything by Brandon Graham (Rain Like Hammers)

I also noticed that The Dreaming Waking Hours has been consistently selling out at my lcs and they have refilled back issues a few times. I don’t expect them to be able to continue restocking so I picked up 1-6 with their last restock.

  3. Immortal Hulk 43 is the unexpected hot new comic of the week. I like surprises because they tend to be more available for sale at stores. Anticipated hot comics usually sell faster.
