Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 2/17/21

Every week hundreds of new books hit the stands, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are the picks of the week for delivery 2/17/21

New #1’s
X-Men Legends #1 – New X-Men series taking the characters back to one of their best eras, the 1990’s. There is a Patrick Gleason Stormbreakers Cover for the book too.

Black Cotton #1 – New Scout Series which switches racial roles.

Hollow Heart #1 – Interesting sounding new series from Vault Comics. EL used to be human. Now he’s a jumble of organs in a bio-suit. EL is also in tremendous pain and has been for a very long time. Hope arrives in the form of Mateo, a mechanice brought in to work on EL’s suit. Mateo sees LK in a way no one ever has. And what’s more: Mateo offers EL an escape.

Savage #1 – Second volume of a pretty cool jungle boy story (think Tarzan) from Valiant. From the mad minds of international superstar Max Bemis and powerhouse artist Nathan Stockman comes the craziest action book of 2021. Teenage heartthrob. Feral social icon. Dinosaur hunter? Born and raised on an uncharted island full of prehistoric dangers, Kevin Sauvage has a taste of home when a mutant dino threat invades England!

Steambound #1 – New series from Behemoth Comics. It is easy to get lost on the streets of megacities, like our protagonists, Hound, Yaeger, and Alice have. Raised together and linked by friendship and spider addiction, Hound is a knight of the order’s restricted council, while Yaeger, genetically modified, works for the city’s criminal cartels. Alice’s request for help will force the group to join again.

Reprint of the Week
Black Knight #1 Facsimile Edition – first appearance of Black Knight gets the full reprinted facsimile treatment. He has gotten some love in the King in Black crossover and a movie appearance forthcoming.

For the Cover
Black Widow #5 Regular Adam Hughes Cover – oddly not many up on eBay at the moment. Great cover, I get it some people have problems with the layout, but still a strong cover for a regular cover book. Check Mycomicshop.com tonight if you are looking for it.

Ones to Watch
King In Black #4 – Eddie is dead but that doesn’t stop him from going through some changes at the end of this issue. Worth looking out for, especially the spoiler cover which the image has not been released for yet.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin #2 – finally the second issue of the hot Last Ronin series hits the shelves. What secrets will it uncover? Make sure to grab the 1:10 Ratio if you can find it cheap.

HAHA #2 – Second issue of the clown based creepy series. First issue was so good, and so surreal, just an amazing read.

For The Cover

King In Black Gwenom vs Carnage #1 2nd Ptg Inhyuk Lee Variant – This will make a great pairing with the 1:25 cover. There will be a ton of copies out there but a great pickup for the personal collection.

Variant of the Week
Spider-Woman #9 Rose Besch Variant Cover – Man, this book is on fire. Personally not a fan of the cover, but if you can find you are gonna make money.

Small Press Pick of the Week
Black Friday #1 – New horror series from Jon Clark, he did Thin a few years back, and released from Scout Comics. Good book, I have had a chance to read it. Imagine a portal to hell opening up in Walmart during Black Friday.

Pick of the Week
Batman Catwoman #3 – New Catwoman appearance, cameo or full I will have spoilers tonight. But worth grabbing. Plus the Phantasm makes an appearance.
