Make sure to head over to CovrPrice.com for you comic Price Guides, Collection Management, and a lot more!

#10 INCREDIBLE HULK #449 MARVEL | 1997 In the Episode 5 of FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER there was a “blink and you miss it” reference within the end credits. In one panel is a note stating “According to Thaddeus Ross, all information regarding the Enhanced Humans Act has been reported to be classified by Major Donavan of Special Unit…” With Zemo heading to the Raft (the base for the initial Thunderbolts) and this quick easter egg and Thunderbolt Ross overseeing THE RAFT all led to speculation of the formation of this possible team. It sold 39 copies, had a 7-day trend of 106% and had a high sale of $1,100 for a CGC 9.8.

#9 ASTONISHING X-MEN #6 MARVEL | 2004 Recently, it was announced that Emelia Clark will be joining the MCU via SECRET INVASION. Heavy speculation immediately pointed to Abigail Brand (though there is nothing confirmed). This issue marks both her first full appearance and the first mention of S.W.O.R.D., who appeared in the MCU at the end of CAPTAIN MARVEL. This speculation sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 253% and had a high sale of $350 for a CGC 9.8.

#8 IRON FIST THE LIVING WEAPON #1 MARVEL | 2014 This issue features the first appearance of PEI, who is the youngest person to ever bear the mark of the Iron Fist. Strong speculation alludes to Pei taking on the official mantle of THE IRON FIST. It sold 34 copies, had a 7-day trend of 308% and had a high sale of $40 for a raw copy.

#7 CAPTAIN AMERICA #25 MARVEL | 2014 SPOILER: FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER is now CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. This cover asked the same question we did throughout the series, “Who is the new Captain America”. And now we know. Actor Anthony Mackie did a great job throwing speculators off the scent, despite plenty of clues leading into Sam taking on the Captain America mantle. This series end episode cemented this issue into a must-have, hence driving sales WAY up. It sold 120 copies, had a 7-day trend of 130% and had a high sale of $660 for a CGC 9.8.

#6 MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #72 MARVEL | 1991 Recently, there have been rumors of a WOLVERINE Anthology series for Disney+. While this news seems very premature, this news sent collectors to this first series that dived into his origin. It sold 89 copies, had a 7-day trend of 200% and had a high sale of $675 for a CGC 9.8.

#5 NIGHTWING #79 DC | 2021 This issue features the first appearance of another villain for Nightwing, called HEARTLESS. Heartless uses a specialized gun to (literally) extract the hearts of his victims. Pretty brutal. It sold 72 copies, had a 7-day trend of 278% and had a high sale of $20 for a raw copy.

#4 BATMAN FORTNITE ZEROPOINT #1 DONALD MUSTARD DC | 2021 This new Fortnite/Batman crossover was the hottest book of the week last week (we were in a shop as the phone rang with folks calling desperately looking for a copy). However, it’s not the book people want… it’s the exclusive HARLEY QUINN REBIRTH skin that is only accessible with a code included within these issues. All 6 issues of this series will have an exclusive “bonus DC-themed Fortnite digital items”. These bonus items will most likely be an EMOTE, HARVESTING TOOL, BACK BLING, GLIDER, and SPRAY TAG. However, they could feature more skins. And, keep in mind that a 2nd print is on the way. Will it also include the same code? Yep! BUT, don’t go rushing out and buying either quite yet… (wait until the end of this Top 10 for details). Regardless, It sold 91 copies, had a 7-day trend of 225% and had a high sale of $40 for a raw (sealed) copy.

#3 BATMAN FORTNITE ZEROPOINT #1 KENNETH ROCAFORT DC | 2021 And ditto. Yes, all covers contain the same code. This one sold 147 copies, had a 7-day trend of 246% and had a high sale of $50 for a raw copy.

#2 CONVERGENCE SUPERMAN #2 DC | 2015 This issue features the first appearance of Jonathan Kent (later Superboy) as a baby on two pages. This issue is trending among the news that SUPERMAN will be canceled at DC and replaced with SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL, with Jon Kent as the star. Jon’s first full appearance (as a child) is in SUPERMAN: LOIS AND CLARK #1 and then first in costume in SUPERMAN (Vol. 4) #2 and officially introduced as SUPERBOY in SUPERMAN (Vol. 4) #6. It sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 1,284% and had a high sale of $175 for a CGC 9.8.

#1 BATMAN FORTNITE ZEROPOINT #1 DC | 2021 And finally the standard cover with a HUGE 389 copies sold across the aftermarket, a 7-day trend of 220%, and a high sale of $52 for a raw copy. Keep in mind that all covers have dropped in price to about $20. And then, as teased, for all you FORTNITE players out there and looking for a code, they are also available to paid subscribers to DC INFINITE, DC’s monthly comic subscription service ($7.99 per month, or $74.99 per year). Note: The code is NOT available on Comixology. If you’ll notice, the code sells for the same price as the comic (duh, that’s all they want). With 5 more “bonus DC-themed Fortnite digital items” coming, there’s also an extra bonus item that’s not widely talked about: if you redeem all 6 codes (from issue #1 to #6), you’ll unlock an Armored Batman Zero Outfit. So, 5 more items plus a limited bonus skin… this subscription will pay for itself (and more). Just a little tip…. Which is a little too late for those that paid $52+ for one.
