#10 ALPHA FLIGHT #1 | MARVEL | 1983 Alpha Flight members have been popping up all throughout the various X-Titles lately. In fact, it was just announced that Wolverine will be leading a new team of Canadian freedom fighters in Heroes Reborn. Add in the fact that ALL things mutant-related are extremely hot. That led to a sudden surge of 48 copies sold with a 7-day trend of 100% and a high sale of $400 for a PGX 9.9.
#9 THOR #617 | MARVEL | 2010 This first appearance of Kid Loki makes a re-appearance on this week’s TOP 10 with continued expectations to see a young version of the God of Mischief on Disney+’s LOKI. It sold 20 copies, had a 7-day trend of 241% and had a high raw sale of $100.
#8 SPAWN #1 |IMAGE| 1992 As noted, Spawn is one of the market’s most consistent selling books… until recently, when both sales and prices have spiked. This first typically sold about 25 copies a week, with 9.8’s around $120. However, with the recent announcement of SAM & TWITCH being developed for TV and a recent comic expansion, Spawn #1 sold a HUGE 84 copies, had a 7-day trend of 95% and had a high sale of $304 for a CGC 9.8.
#7 W.E.B OF SPIDER-MAN #1 BAGLEY VARIANT (1:25) | MARVEL | 2021 After Endgame, one of the biggest questions was “who was that guy at Tony Stark’s funeral”… which was quickly answered as Harley Keener, the boy from IRON MAN 3. This led to plenty of speculation that Harley would appear in the future MCU films… quite possibly as an Iron Man based hero. However, with no comic ties, speculation was limited… until now. This issue introduces Harley officially into the Marvel comic universe and had immediate price spikes. This variant was SUPER HOT and sold 40 copies, had a 7-day trend of 217% and had a high raw sale of $158.
#6 HAWKEYE #1 | MARVEL | 2016 Interest and anticipation in Kate Bishop’s appearance on the HAWKEYE Disney+ series have spilled over into her first solo series. While this also features the first appearance of Ramone Watts (who later becomes Alloy), this issue surprisingly sold even MORE copies than last week with 80 sold, a 7-day trend of 118% and had a high sale of $349 for a CGC 9.8
#5 WHAT IF? PLANET HULK #1 | MARVEL | 2007 Multiple sites shared SUPER unconfirmed rumors that Skaar, son of The Hulk (and Caiera from Planet Hulk/ Sakaar) could be appearing in the upcoming Disney+ SHE-HULK series. While Skaar’s first appearance is in this What If one-shot, this is reported to be an alternate version of the Skaar that first emerged at the end of WORLD WAR HULK #5 and then into his own series, SKAAR: SON OF THE HULK #1. Still, this one-shot What If went nuts! It sold 25 copies, had a 7-day trend of 493% and raw books selling for a high of $250 and an all-time high sale of $600 for a CGC 9.8.
#4 THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE #1 | DC | 2021 Tynion’s status as Hit-Maker continues into this DC series. This book sold a big 93 copies, with a 7-day trend of 275% and had a high raw sale of $20. This first issue should continue seeing increases.
#3 W.E.B. OF SPIDER-MAN #1 MATUSZAK VARIANT | MARVEL | 2021 Last week, AVENGERS CAMPUS at Disney’s California Adventure opened and is celebrated on this cover. Add that and the fact that it also features the first Harley Kenner makes this a solid pick-up. It sold 64 copies, had a 7-day trend of 422% and had a high raw sale of $30.
#2 THOR ANNUAL #18 | MARVEL | 1993 Internet super-sleuths dug up this “first cameo appearance” of a female Loki. While it’s not the same iteration we saw in Marvel’s Dark Reign/Siege storyline, the recent spotlight on this early appearance sold 78 copies, had a 7-day trend of 628% and had a high raw sale of $40.
#1 W.E.B. OF SPIDER-MAN #1 | MARVEL | 2021 And yeah, Harley Kenner’s first appearance in comics dominated this Top 10. Catching collectors off guard, many had to turn to online sales and helped move 153 copies with a 7-day trend of 396% and had a high raw sale of $32.
