#10 X-FACTOR #6 | MARVEL | 198 It was recently announced that Apocalypse will be a central character (featuring a more streamlined look) for Marvel’s upcoming 6-issue DARK AGES min-series. Currently living as a reformed mutant on Krakoa, this series is his speculated return to villainy. Either way, he will play a heavy role in the series, giving his first severely undervalued first appearance a nice boost in sales with 28 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 133% and a high sale of $590 for a CGC 9.8.
#9 INHUMANS #5 | MARVEL | 1999 This first cameo appearance of the new MCU Black Widow, Yelena Belova continues to hit new highs. Last week she sold 30 copies, had a 7-day trend of 140% and had a new all-time high sale of $785 for a CGC 9.8.
#8 THE MIGHTY THOR #245 | MARVEL | 1976 All aboard the Kang-Train! Well, in this case it’s “He Who Remains” aka Volderm… we mean… Kang. Yes, Disney did a little origin blending, with EP (Kate Herron) confirming via Deadline that “Kang is the variant, but he’s also not technically Immortus. It’s a bit like Sylvie, right? She’s a unique character in relation to our story. He Who Remains is in the comics, but the version in our show was very different. He’s closer to Immortus, but he’s a unique character for our story. But Kang is a variant of that character.” With that said, the sheer mention of “He Who Remains” was enough to cause this to sell 27 copies with a 7-day trend of 247% and a high raw sale of $160.
#7 BASILISK #1 2ND PRINT | BOOM STUDIOS | 2021 Basilisk is another BOOM! picking up steam in the aftermarket. This under-ordered 2nd print has been a solid seller with 38 copies, had a 7-day trend of 203% and raws selling for $44 and had a high sale of $95 for a CGC 9.8.
#6 THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE #1 | DC | 2021 The big question was whether or not James Tynion’s new series would follow the scorching hot trend set by SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN and DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH… turns out the answer is yes. This book had a surge in both sales and a price jump this week with 68 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 139% and had a high raw sale of $30.
#5 NEVER NEVER #1 | HEAVY METAL | 2021 So, apparently this list is Kang books and hot new indie series. This new title from Heavy Metal was VERY hard to find in stores and is quickly generating a fanbase due to it’s dark take on Neverland from Peter Pan. It sold 78 copies, had a 7-day trend of 156% and had a high raw sale of $30.
#4 AVENGERS #267 | MARVEL | 1986 It’s clear that we’re about to get WAY more Kangs… which means we’ll also get THE COUNCIL OF KANGS, whose first appearance is in this issue. It sold 62 copies, had a 7-day trend of 202% and had a high raw sale of $199.
#3 AVENGERS #269 | MARVEL | 1986 So many Kangs and so little time to go into his ultra confusing origins. Well, this issue adds to that confusion with the origin of Rama-Tut (aka Kang) and a big battle between Kang and Immortus (aka Kang vs. Kang). It sold 60 copies, had a 7-day trend of 244% and had a high raw sale of $50.
#2 CHARIOT #1 | ARTISTS WRITERS & ARTISANS | 2021 This is the first appearance of Kang as Chariot. Sorry, we were on a roll there. This was recently announced via DEADLINE that “Warner Brothers won an auction for Chariot, a feature pitch package that has Top Gun: Maverick helmer Joseph Kosinski directing an adaptation of the graphic novel recently published by Artists, Writers and Artisans (AWA).” This news continues to move copies, selling 37 copies and landing in the 2nd position this week. It had a 7-day trend of 595% and had a high raw sale of $40.
#1 AVENGERS #2 | MARVEL | 2016 With SO MUCH speculation around Kang right now and his many variants… sometimes we just need a pretty cover with them ALL on it. This cover has them all… Rama-Tut, Immortus, Iron Lad, etc.). This issue continued it’s hot trend from last week and sold 49 copies, had a 7-day trend of 471% and had a high raw sale of $45.
Basilisk 1 2nd is hot because it has the House of Slaughter preview.
