Previews gives us a glimpse of what’s to come. Here’s the spotlight new books (and some trade/hardcovers/omnibuses) coming out of August for Marvel titles minus the Star Wars which is now in another article since there are so many of those now!
August Previews Highlight Picks for Marvel
I missed last months previews so expect a few of last months thrown in here if still available on pre-orders. If you’re looking for the Marvel Star Wars titles, I put those in their own article here.
Alien #2 gives us a Barends regular cover. Even if you don’t read Alien, can’t beat a good Barends cover.
All-Out Avengers #2 has Doctor Doom wielding Cap’s shield and Thor’s hammer!
You can still pre-order the first issue which was in last months previews: All-Out Avengers #1
Ant-Man #4 (of 4) might be a decent pickup. All about this future Ant-Man.
Avengers #61 continues the heroes from the past story line. Probably good pickups for the potential any of these characters are new and stick around.
Avengers #60 is still available for pre-order as well along with the Avengers #60 (Martin Beyond Amazing Spider-Man Variant).
I haven’t even started to read the latest Carnage volume but the regular covers have had some top notch covers if you ask me. Carnage #7 is another great cover I think done well.
It’s YASMB (Yet Another Spider-Man Book) but this one, Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (of 5) looks interesting. I’m in as you can’t beat a good Rahzzah cover either.
Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (of 5) (Albuquerque Variant)
Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (of 5) (Casanovas Variant)
Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (of 5) (Bengal Connect Variant)
Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (of 5) (Stormbreakers Variant)
Hulk #9 mentions Monolith. Donny Cates loves to regurgitate older characters so I’m wondering if this might be Monolith that first appeared in Avengers #179 which is still pretty cheap book. Might be worthy of a pickup I say as you never know with Cates what might make you some extra dough!
Moon Knight Annual #1 is a must for me as a Moon Knight fan and because Werewolf By Night returns in this annual, like the good ol days!
Namor #1 (of 5) is likely setting up Namor to show up in the MCU more than likely. Probably worth checking out.
Punisher War Journal Brother #1 is a must, one of my all time favorite titles growing up was Punisher War Journal.
Punisher War Journal Brother #1 (Superlog Variant) – Eager to see what this variant looks like too from Superlog, who rarely disappoints.
Punisher War Journal Brother #1 (Simmonds Variant)
Strange Academy #1 is back with a reboot and new volume.
Wakanda #1 (of 5) for all you Black Panther fans out there.
