#11 STAR WARS #1 | MARVEL | 1977
While sales for a 9.8 are about $3K below where there were in March 2022, collectors have used the market dip to pick up mega key books like STAR WARS #1. With Disney releasing Andor to great success and numerous projects on the horizon, fans thought it was time to pick up a key issue that helped start it all. We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 188%, with a high sale of $4,550 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw VF FMV of $204.

#12 VENOM LETHAL PROTECTOR #1 | MARVEL | 1993
Venom 3 has a new director, one with big plans. Rumors have been swirling that we may see the Lethal Protector storyline adapted for the 3rd film. Sony has been releasing plans for numerous spinoff shows for the whole Spider franchise and fans are considering they may go all out and deliver this epic storyline to audiences. Opting to pick up Venom’s first solo series we tracked 49 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 126% with a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $29

#13 JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #1 JOE QUINONES 90S COVER FOIL | DC | 2022
The Justice Society of America is on the minds of many after Black Adam. With a relaunch of the long-running title, fans were treated to an exceptional Quinones throwback 90’s cover and a couple of first appearances and deaths. The first appearance of the daughter of Red Lantern and son of Harlequin is quickly followed by their deaths, while Red Lantern makes an argued first cameo in comics. We tracked 37 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 72%, with a high sale of $18 for a raw cop and a current raw FMV of $12.

#14 X-MEN ANNUAL #14 | MARVEL | 1990
The community is having a quiet battle regarding what a true “first appearance” really is. X-Men #266 is widely considered Gambit’s first appearance. The debate stems from this book around Gambit appearing on multiple panels, named and with dialogue. While the market still leans heavily on X-Men #266 as the first, the tide has shifted slightly with increased sales for what’s currently considered a cameo appearance. We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 90%, with a high sale of $300 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $45.

#15 BATMAN #609 | DC | 2002
The future for the DCEU is bright. With James Gunn at the helm and the established success of The Batman, fans are eager for what the future holds. As part of a tie-in for the film, the website rataalada.com featured a puzzle that flashed the words HUSH when solved. Fans can’t help but wonder if Thomas Elliot (Hush), who first appeared in this book, is part of the future plans. We tracked 10 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 160%, with a high sale of $91 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $25.

#16 SPAWN #9 | IMAGE | 1993
Oddly enough, this book appeared in the exact same spot on our list a few weeks ago. The reasoning behind it has stayed the same, as fans envision the potential of this book. It features the first appearance of Angela and Cogliostro, two heavy hitters in the Spawn universe. With the new Spawn movie slowly moving forward and Angela now a part of Marvel, fans can’t help but look at the potential opportunities. We tracked 15 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 98%, and had a high sale of $137.95 for a CGC of 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $24.

#17 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #312 | MARVEL | 1989
While this book isn’t incredibly notable, it has a few things going for it. It’s early McFarlane work, a battle between two Gobbies, and features a tweak to the famous McFarlane signature. Adding a scroll around his signature was a way to make it stand out on his crowded covers. Ironically, it was a book the Toddfather was not a fan of, but he still sees it all the time when signing books, like at his recent CGC event. We tracked 10 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 150%, with a high sale of $155.50 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw VF FMV of $13.

#18 THE NEW MUTANTS #99 | MARVEL | 1991
This book features the first appearance of Shatterstar. Some may remember the character from Deadpool 2, who met an untimely death. However, per CBM, the actor who played him teased his possible return in Deadpool 3. Not to mention this book homages X-Men #138, an iconic cover. We tracked 14 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 101%, with a high sale of $54 for a CGC 9.6 and a raw VF FMV of $7.

#19 G.I. JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO #300 RON JOSEPH COVER RI (1:25) | IDW | 2022
IDW went all out for the conclusion of this series. Cover A features 313 individual characters, whereas this 1:25 from Ron Joesph features the select fan favorites collectors have known for years. This series is a nostalgia factory, and IDW laid it on with a devious plan by Cobra to resurrect both heroes and villains. It certainly grabbed fans’ attention. We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 122% with a high sale of $37.22 for a raw copy. The current raw FMV has settled to $14.

#20 THE OMEGA MEN #3 | DC | 1983
Well, the streak of Lobo appearing in the Top Ten has come to an end. He still remains on our lists, however, albeit at #20. Copies of the first appearance of Lobo are still moving as James Gunn and Jason Mamoa have stoked the flames of speculation. With so much support behind the character, fans can’t help but feel the same. We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 127%, with a high sale of $395 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $99.
