As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #36 | MARVEL | 1988
Do you remember the El Muerto movie? Sony hasn’t! Last week rumors began circulating that Sony Pictures has decided on their “big bad” for the film. The villain chosen to go up against the all-star is none other than the classic Spider-Man villain, Tombstone. What sort of plot/conflict El Muerto and Tombstone will get into is still unknown. The star, Bad Bunny, has mentioned that while the movie is currently at a “standstill,” it is still in development. Regardless if the film does well or not, the news is enough to drive popularity in Tombstone’s first appearance. We tracked 20 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 124%, with a high sale of $448.73 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $31.

#12 WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #118 DIRECT EDITION | MARVEL | 1994
Across the Spider-Verse director recently announced that a very top secret actor was recently cast as Scarlet Spider. In no time, the internet dug and made a connection that Andy Samberg may be the top secret voice. While there is no official confirmation from Sony, several reports provide evidence to support the rumor. Whoever is voicing Ben Reilly has big shoes to fill, as this is one of the top most anticipated spider-verse characters. His first appearance has been steadily climbing in value as we approach the debut of the next Spider-verse movie! We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 119%, with a high sale of $660 for a CGC 9.8 and an NM Raw FMV of $88.

#13 GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY ANNUAL #1 | MARVEL | 1991
We’re only a few days from the debut of the final chapter in this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy team! As we get closer, more clips and teasers are released. The most recent teaser shows Krugarr, a serpentine species, using a form of magic similar to Doctor Strange’s magic. Perhaps this movie is a set-up for Krugarr to take on a more prominent role in the MCU, and fans are speculating on his first appearance. Should he play a significant role in the MCU, the book has a very low buy-in for anyone looking for a spec buy. We tracked 34 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 90%, with a high sale of $8.86 for a raw copy.

#14 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992
Again, Spawn makes an appearance on our lists. This book is one of the most consistent movers in the hobby and has been for years! We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 103%, with a high sale of $190 for a CGC 9.8. An FMV for a raw NM copy is $26.

#15 THE THING #27 DIRECT EDITION | MARVEL | 1985
This is an interesting case of a rumor flying out of control on social media. A Twitter user, who has previously leaked MCU info, posted that Marvel may be in talks with Mila Kunis to play The Thing. This sent fans into a frenzy, and not a particularly positive one. As some fans panicked over this news, other fans quickly picked up the first appearance of Sharon Ventura. Sharon Ventura eventually becomes the 2nd Captain Marvel. Additionally, she became the first iteration of the female version of The Thing. Mila Kunis has since been quoted as saying she wasn’t in the movie, but knows who is. As we wait for formal announcements, stay on the hunt for this issue! We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 249%, with a high sale of $10.80 for a raw copy.

#16 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #129 | MARVEL | 1974
If you haven’t heard, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is set to join the official MCU. The anticipation for more news about this return is exceptionally high. As fans wait for information on when we will see Punisher, they continue to secure copies of the anti-hero’s first appearance! We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 84%, with a high sale of $8400 for a CGC 9.6 and a VG FMV of $837.

#17 X-MEN #141 | MARVEL | 1981
What a stellar book to see on the runner-up list! This book holds several first appearances and is one of the most recognizable X-Men covers. While Avalanche, Pyro, and Rachel Summers aren’t rumored in any future MCU projects, this book has other reasons for the surge in popularity. Recent Marvel solicitations have revealed that Marvel Comics plans on revisiting this storyline through a prequel story. The prequel is set to hit shelves in July! We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 138%, with a high sale of $1,080 for a CGC 9.8.

#18 STAR WARS YODA #6 TAKASHI OKAZAKI (1:25) | MARVEL | 2023
Okazaki’s distinct art style took one of the top ten spots in last week’s lists. While it may have dropped down the list, it hasn’t completely fallen off. The stark contrast of Yoda’s lightsaber against the black and white cover creates a genuinely distinct Yoda cover for fans of the character. Even though it is lower on the list, this retailer incentive is still a hot grab! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 147%, with a high sale of $101 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $86.

Though, online sellers are blasting copies out in bulk for lower prices.
