FOC is the last chance to put in your orders with your comic shops and likely get at a discount for pre-ordering. Here’s a few of the highlights for this week…
Did you all see D-Rog (Dirty D) FOC picks? He thinks he can do better than me… Well, he probably can because I’ll admit it, I don’t know what the heck I’m doing and haven’t really known what I’m doing since getting back into comics way back in 2013 when I stumbled upon this website searching for good reads to pick up at the local shop…
Looks like Marvel is doing some Perez variants which I’m all onboard with since I’m a fan of the late great… First up is Avengers #2 (George Perez Variant).
I highlighted this one I think a while back during previews, which details a new character in Danny Ketch Ghost Rider #2 (of 5). I believe this will be the first cover appearance of the Broker.
Danny Ketch Ghost Rider #2 (of 5) (Momoko Variant) – Pretty slick Momoko variant as well.
Danny Ketch Ghost Rider #2 (of 5) (25 Copy Skan Variant) – Might be a decent pickup if you can find for cheap.
For you Spider-Boy fans and believers out there… Edge of Spider-Verse #3 (of 4) (Ramos Variant). Is it me or does it look like his head is kind of shaped like a football in there…. Hmmm….
Star Wars Bounty Hunters #35 (Inhyuk Lee Durge Variant) has a pretty cool Durge cover.
I’m also liking the Maleev variant with Boba Fetta. So many Boba Fett covers out there but it’s still cool.
I’m also really digging the Pride Variant: Star Wars Bounty Hunters #35 (Werneck Star Wars Pride Variant)
It’s a trade but it’s also Thrawn, a must for any fan who can’t be bothered in trying to find the single issues or the 2018 Trade Paper Back (which by the way, sells for around $80 to $85 currently, who says trades aren’t spec worthy?)
Star Wars TPB Thrawn (New Ptg)
There’s a few new Image titles coming out soon but the only one on FOC this week that stands out to me is Klik Klik Boom #1 (of 5) by Doug Wagner since I also read it with an advance copy and really enjoyed it. I’m intrigued so far and looking forward to the next issue.
I believe is also only has the single cover. These always seem more special to me as if the creators are putting more into the story and inside art than just pumping a bunch of variant covers to boost their sales by such tactics.
If this new Trinity ever becomes something more, then Wonder Woman #800 (Cover K – Daniel Sampere Trinity Card Stock Variant) might be a decent pickup. It’s a grab and hold type of situation.
Loving this Mirka variant for Batman White Knight Presents Generation Joker #2 (of 6) (Cover B – Mirka Andolfo Variant).
I love Stokoe and most of his work at DC currently are all ratios so I welcome an open order cover with Batman Incorporated #9 (Cover B – James Stokoe Card Stock Variant). It’s just a must and this one is pretty awesome I think.
That’s all I got this week. Join or start the discussion over on the forums if you haven’t already joined the CHU community!
