Welcome to this weeks spec and picks. This is where we pick the winners each week we (or shall I say myself) think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover.
My last picks was way back in May, geez! Life has been super busy but maybe I’ll try and make more time to do more picks again. Here’s my short list of picks for this week for August 15/16th…
Marvel Picks
I like Zdarsky, both as writer and artist. Few can pull that off I think. His variant for Daredevil #14 (Chip Zdarsky Variant) is simplicity at it’s best and an all black cover is going to be hard to come by.
Darth Vader #37 Barends Ratio Variant is a must if you find for cover price or cheap. TFAW is sold out but you might keep an close eye if they get more in stock!
It’s a What If title but still introduces a new Moon Knight in What if Dark Moon Knight #1. Could be a worthy grab and hold…
DC Picks
If you haven’t read it, you should. That’s Absolute V for Vendetta HC. I already have the trade but a hardcover would look so nice on the book shelf for this classic!
Indie Picks
Dwellings #1 (of 3) (Cover A – Stephens) is already sold out at Midtown for the A cover. Might be a worthy pickup, at least I hope it’s a fun read. It’s got a heftier cover price so I’d imagine a lot of shops didn’t go heavy on any extra shelf copies, only fulfilling pre-orders.
