#11 DRAGON BALL Z #1 VIZ MEDIA | 1998
The world lost another legend. Although ‘Dragon Ball’ creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st, his passing was only made public last week. The creator is responsible for many fond memories of battling Saiyans. Dragon Ball has often been referenced as the most influential manga in the past three decades. The hole left behind in the anime and manga world is not a small one. Fans have taken to social media to pay their respects, while others have drawn fan art in tribute. As for us comic collectors, they took to the aftermarket to find a copy of DRAGON BALL Z #1, the first full U.S. appearances of Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Bulma, and Vegeta (the first U.S. comic cover and preview appearances of Dragon Ball was in Antarctic Press’ Mangazine #14. The cover is fantastic too!). Now, more than ever, will this book be a relic in the history of Toriyama’s saga? We tracked 15 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 139%, with a high sale of $800 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $97.

#12 GRUNGE COMICS #1 FIRST AMENDMENT PUBLISHING | 1994
The crossover between legendary rock covers and comic books has been prevalent since the 90s. It has recently emerged again, sparking a new age of collectors chasing classic homage covers. This book is the first in a three-part collection highlighting the lives of Kurt Cobain, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots. The 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s passing is approaching next month, which is reason to believe that this book suddenly sold 18 copies this past week! We also tracked a 7-day trend of 148% with a high sale of $102.14 for an NM+ raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $45

#13 HULK #1 MARVEL | 2008
In June 2023, a set photo of Harrison Ford in tattered jeans was released. Before this, fans had already speculated that Harrison Ford might appear as the Red Hulk in the Captain America: Brave New World film. However, this picture was near confirmation for fans, as they jumped at the opportunity to purchase the Red Hulk’s first appearance. In another turn of events, there were reports that the movie was headed to multiple reshoots, removing many villains. It looks like the Red Hulk is still safe from the reshoots, but his role may either be reduced or increased; no word yet! In the meantime, fans are still picking up his first appearance. We tracked 18 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 66%, with a high sale of $227.50 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $58.

#14 X-MEN #221 MARVEL | 1987
Every time this book pops up on our lists, it is a reminder that the show’s debut is getting nearer! X-Men ‘97 is set to debut in a little over a week from now and it has built up a ton of fan anticipation. Mr. Sinister has been rumored to be one of the main villains in the series. All the episodes won’t debut at once, so fans will still have to wait to see whether Mr. Sinister makes his appearance or not! We tracked 27 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 87%, with a high sale of $270.50 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $64.

#15 THE BAT-MAN: FIRST KNIGHT #1 – MARC ASPINALL – PULP DC | 2024
Every once in a while, we see a book that has nothing to do with media rumors or FOMO landing on our top ten lists. Instead, this book is a story that has garnered many positive reviews for both the story and artwork. Writer Dan Jurgens and artist Mike Perkins take Batman into the year 1939 for a new version of a “Year One” storyline. It is a phenomenal new take on The Batman and worth picking up a copy. Especially this variant, which has been the most popular due to its callback to the time period! We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 112%, with a high sale of $15 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $9.

#16 NEW X-MEN #114 – DIRECT EDITION MARVEL | 2001
Deadpool 3 may still be four months away, but the hype on the movie is not slowing down. Cassandra Nova is still speculated to be one of the big bads, and the trailer provided fans a glimpse at the potential bald-headed villainess. While still unconfirmed, this rumor is still driving sales for this book! We tracked 20 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 115%, with a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $18.

#17 PEARL #1 – MALEEV DC | 2018
This book gave birth to a tattoo artist assassin that will soon find themselves making their way to a show for Amazon Prime. While the cover A for this book has hit the top ten list, the second cover has made its way down to the runner-ups. Both are averaging an NM FMV of $8, so it is really coming down to a cover preference from collectors. We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 121%, with a high sale of $90 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $8.

#18 AVENGERS: TWILIGHT #1 – ALEX ROSS – REGULAR MARVEL | 2024
Fans can’t seem to make up their mind! Which is the most important debut in this universe, the first appearance of Tony Stark’s son or the first appearance of a new Bullseye? Every week, there seems to be a shift between these two issues. This week, fans have returned to the titular hero’s offspring, the non-armored James Stark (if you’re looking for his first appearance in armor, then you’ll want to check out AVENGERS: TWILIGHT #3). We tracked 12 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 91%, with a high sale of $20 for an NM raw and a current raw NM FMV of $14.

#19 X-MEN #27 – PEACH MOMOKO – NEW CHAMPIONS MARVEL | 2023
The New Champions cover series was created to showcase the new young partners of Marvel’s established heroes. Everyone received a new sidekick, including Black Cat, Captain Marvel, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, and many others. Out of all these new sidekicks, Peach Momoko’s Maystorm was the only one to receive a shift from the cover to the actual pages of a comic. She is currently in the recent ULTIMATE X-MEN run. As fans learn more about her character, her first cover appearance is becoming a much more desirable collectible. We tracked ten copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 97%, with a high sale of $50 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $41.

#20 ALL-NEW WOLVERINE #1 MARVEL | 2015
One of the most anticipated rumors from Deadpool 3, aside from Taylor Swift as Dazzler, has been the return of Dafne Keen as X-23. Critics and fans highly praised her performance in Logan. Many had hoped, and sometimes campaigned, for her return as X-23 in the new MCU. However, she was not seen throughout the entirety of the Infinity Saga. With the expansion of the multiverse and Marvel tapping into older movies, it is likely that this might be the opportunity needed to see Keen return. Rumors have been floating around that Deadpool 3 would see the return of many old characters, including X-23. Just last week, Keen shared a photo of herself with Hugh Jackman on the Logan set. There was no context to this post, but fans speculated that this was her way of telling us that she was in the film! This was the opportunity needed to start reigniting an interest in this book, where X-23 debuts in the classic Wolverine costume! We tracked 15 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 136%, with a high sale of $115 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $24.
