RUNNERS UP
11 Absolute Wonder Woman #1 – Hayden Sherman – Regular
Absolute Wonder Woman goes strong into her 4th week on the top charts! Fans are unlikely to lose interest but instead focus on other Absolute books. For example, a new variant was released for the much more popular ABSOLUTE BATMAN this past week. The sales for this regular cover are still going strong. Coming out only two weeks after ABSOLUTE BATMAN #1, this book will likely follow a strongly similar trend to its predecessor. We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 68%, with a high sale of $16 for an NM copy and a current NM raw price of $10.
12 Mark Spears Monsters #1 – Mark Spears – 2nd Print – Trick Or Treat
Here is the mole-less copy of the 2nd print of MARK SPEARS MONSTERS #1. The first issue was such a massive hit that it deserved a 2nd print (and 3rd!). However, a printing error sent the infamous “mole” variant to the top 10 and kept the regular issue in the runner-ups. Even without a mole, this book is seeing strong sales thanks to the immense popularity of the first issue and Kickstarter campaign. We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 61%, with a high sale of $18 for an NM copy and a current NM raw price of $15.
13 Venom #39 – Carlos E. Gomez – Foreshadow
While it seems that Venom’s big-screen trilogy has come to an end (or has it?), meanwhile, Venom’s comic counterpart is just getting started. ALL-NEW VENOM #1 is releasing next week, and this book revs up the hype by showcasing a brand-new suit! Not only that but the All-New series is also set up to debut with a brand-new Venom host. With such a significant key event on the horizon, it makes sense that fans are chasing down this first appearance of the all-new Venom. We’ll see how monumental the reveal is next week! We tracked 12 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 96%, with a high sale of $120 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current NM raw price of $12.
14 G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero #311 – Francis Portela (1:10)
G.I. Joe has had a huge following since its debut comic in 1982. Of all the debuted characters, Snake Eyes is one of the most popular heroes. This book may not be a huge key issue, but it features great artwork by Francis Portela. It also is a retailer incentive variant, which gives it a nice boost in rarity and collectability. The series has a strong following, and fans always look for a great cover to add to their collection. We tracked 28 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 37%, with a high sale of $20 for an NM copy and a current NM raw price of $14.
15 Star Wars: The Force Awakens Adaptation #1
It looks like Rey is ready for a comeback to the Star Wars Universe! Maybe. While Disney originally announced that Rey would lead her own film, Variety confirmed that Disney removed a Star Wars movie from the slate, and while the movie was unnamed, many assume that this was the Rey film. However, on the heels of this news sprouted a far-fetched rumor. While Disney canceled a Star Wars film, an unnamed trilogy was announced, led by producer Simon Kinberg. Online leakers have claimed that this trilogy will actually be a Rey-focused trilogy, and that is why the Rey movie was canceled. The claims are that Disney is “putting all their chips” on Rey and her leading the new Star Wars storylines. There is absolutely no evidence of this, as of now, so take this with a grain of salt when you are hunting this book down! We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 35%, with a high sale of $145 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current NM raw price of $20.
16 Captain America Vol.1 #230
D23 Brazil held a lot of welcome surprises! One of which was a new poster for the Captain America: Brave New World film. The poster paid homage to this classic comic cover. However, the poster featured the newly crowned Captain America, Sam Wilson, taking a punch from Thunderbolt Ross’ Red Hulk. The poster and trailer revealed seemed to have renewed hype for the film, which has had a rocky start. We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 20%, with a high sale of $95 for a CGC 9.2 copy and a current FN raw price of $27.
17 Venom: Lethal Protector Vol.1 #5
It has been exactly one month since the debut of Venom: The Last Dance. SPOILERS: The film ends with a massive symbiote battle against the Xenophage. While it was Knull pulling the strings throughout the film, Knull never partakes in an active role in the battle. Instead, we see the monstrosity go against the likes of symbiotes like Agony, Lasher, and Phage. Fans of these symbiotes were likely thrilled to see them on the big screen, however briefly. For those who want more of these symbiotes, this issue features their first full appearance and is an easy find! We tracked 20 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 18%, with a high sale of $85 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current VF raw price of $9.
18 Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #8 – Direct
For the first time in months, there is a reason for this book being on the top trending list! Sony Pictures Japan released an official press release, mentioning that Tom Holland approved the script for Spider-Man 4, and it starts filming later next year. In this release, they call out Tom Hardy, asking if he is ready to take on the “part.” The press release is pretty ambiguous, but also… not. Tom Hardy is well known for playing Venom, so there really isn’t another part that they would be referencing in this press release. Plus, there have been long-standing rumors that Spider-Man 4 would be a multidimensional crossover featuring Tom Hardy’s Venom. Is this enough to make you secure your copy of SECRET WARS #8? We tracked 30 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 16%, with a high sale of $479 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current VF raw price of $167.
19 The Uncanny X-Men Vol.1 #251
The iconic cover makes its return to the top ten list! This book started hitting our top ten when Deadpool & Wolverine debuted. In the film, Deadpool crosses many universes in search of a replacement Wolverine. Across these dimensions, he runs into many variants. One of those universes was ripped straight from this comic cover. It was a perfect cinematic representation of this fantastic artwork, and fans are still going to the aftermarket to find this stellar cover! We tracked 27 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 14%, with a high sale of $275 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current FN raw price of $27.
20 The Amazing Spider-Man Vol.1 #300 – Todd McFarlane – Direct
Prepare for the return of the symbiotes! As mentioned above, this book and SECRET WARS #8 will likely see an uptick in the next couple of weeks. Sony Pictures Japan issued a press release that strongly alluded to Tom Hardy joining the Spider-Man 4 film in an “undisclosed role.” For all we know, this could be a variant, but chances are that this could be the first piece of evidence that we have to prove that Eddie Brock will bring Venom over to the main MCU! Did this piece of information seal the deal on grabbing this iconic book? We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 8%, with a high sale of $2,640 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current NM raw price of $451.
