Jeff the Land Shark has made a splash with his latest appearance in… Marvel Rivals! The hit hero shooter debuted on Dec. 6, bringing many Marvel characters to a new audience. The antics from Jeff’s in-game abilities have taken over a majority of Marvel Rival’s social media videos. He has quickly become a gamer favorite and that popularity translates over to his recent comic book boom on the aftermarket. This is a 3rd print copy of Jeff’s first solo series and a nice reference to the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World movie. We tracked 12 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 232%, with a high sale of $25 for an NM copy and a current NM raw price of $16.
12 Venom War #5 – Iban Coello – Regular
The All-New Venom makes an appearance on the cover of this book. The All-New Venom was a highly anticipated new direction for Venom, and fans were waiting for a glimpse of the suit. This cover is a perfect tease for the future Venom suit. The reveal of this symbiote was huge but probably not as huge as the identity of the new host. The series just launched, and it looks like we’ll have to wait for the big reveal! 13 Spawn #1 – Todd McFarlane – Regular
Spawn is a longtime member of our top ten and runner-up lists. The book was #1 last week and has now dropped to our runner-ups. However, this book is never really gone. It always makes a run for the top spot whenever news of the character (or movie) goes public. A couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Todd McFarlane would return to the series in 2025. The hype for McFarlane’s return drove this issue to the top. This week, there is still enough steam to remain on our runners! This book is a variant of Jeff’s first solo series. It is a one-shot that collects Jeff’s digital comics in print. Fans have been chasing this cover, perhaps because it almost looks like a reverse Jaws movie poster! Since its release, the Absolute Universe has taken the aftermarket by storm. For months, ABSOLUTE BATMAN and WONDER WOMAN took over the Top Ten and Runner-Up lists. After a while, this book began to creep up as people realized this was the first appearance of the aforementioned characters. It also included the first appearance of Absolute Superman. As fans continue to enjoy the Absolute Universe, this book will be an important key to reference the start of the new dimension. Last week was the official release of the Invincible season 3 trailer, which revealed a ton! The trailer was actually released earlier than it was supposed to be on Amazon Prime. Marvel Rivals has taken over the video game community. It had a massive debut, reaching over 10 million players in just 72 hours. The game has tons of heat, with fans anticipating the first season dropping sometime in January (we’re currently in Season 0). There are tons of characters featured, and one of the most popular characters is Iron Fist. This isn’t Danny Rand’s Iron Fist. This is the newest Iron Fist, Lin Lie, also formerly known as Sword Master. He debuted in 2022 and is now making another huge debut on Marvel Rivals. His popularity in the game has translated to his first comic book appearance, as his book fired off this week! This is one of the original MONSTERS books that started the positive trend for these books! Bridezilla’s cover was featured for weeks before other variants started popping up. When it was originally released in September, the book was valued at around $10. It climbed through the month and exploded into October, selling over 10x that amount. That growth didn’t slow down and continued to accumulate value. Today, the book holds a current NM raw price of $195. 20 Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 – Jesus Saiz – 2nd Print
In case you haven’t heard, Chris Evans is set to return for Avengers: Doomsday. Currently, we don’t know what role he’ll be returning to. However, that hasn’t stopped fan speculation. The most popular fan theory is that Evans will be returning to play Captain America as a Hydra agent (which was revealed in this book). There isn’t any supporting evidence that this would be true.
