TOP 10
1 Superman #680
Superman #680 (2008) is a heartfelt highlight of Krypto’s heroism. As part of James Robinson’s “Atlas” arc, it showcases Krypto fiercely protecting Superman and Metropolis from the powerful Atlas, proving he’s more than a pet—he’s a true hero. Krypto leaps into action to defend his master, with the emotional bond between them taking center stage. It’s a heartfelt reminder that even in a world of gods and monsters, the love and loyalty of a dog can inspire and protect. A theme clearly played out in the immensely hot new “Superman” Trailer. While not Krypto’s first appearance, this book is a popular, affordable alternative for collectors due to its modern topical storyline and a stunning Alex Ross cover art, which captures Krypto in all his heroic glory. Even at this week’s high price of $102, it remains a relatively accessible option—though still now a bit “super”-sized price wise for fans of Superman’s best friend. We tracked 35 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 506% with a high sale of $60 for a NM+ copy and a current NM raw price of $50.
2 It’s Jeff: The Jeff-Verse – Matteo Lolli
It’s Jeff: The Jeff-Verse #1 is a delightful one-shot comic that compiles issues #13-24 of the popular It’s Jeff! Infinity Comics series from Marvel Unlimited. Written by Kelly Thompson with art by Gurihiru, this collection showcases the charming and mischievous adventures of Jeff the Land Shark as he interacts with various Marvel heroes. Aside from the booming popularity of Jeff right now, this issue highlights the lighthearted escapades and antics our this loveable land shark that gives Jeff his big personality in Marvel Rivals, both portrayed with minimal dialogue, relying on expressive artwork to convey humor and emotion, making him accessible to fans of all ages. Even without words, we know that Jeff dreams big to be a hero like Thor one day. We tracked 6 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 289% with a high sale of $30 for a NM copy and a current NM raw price of $23.
3 It’s Jeff: The Jeff-Verse – Gurihiru – Regular
Can we just say “ditto” here? This first print is on fire right now, pairing well with the first issue of “It’s Jeff” his first solo series. It surprising to see even this series get big traction, yet here we are. We tracked 42 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 207% with a high sale of $30 for a NM copy and a current NM raw price of $14.
4 Superman #712
Not only is this a great modern Krypto cover, but it’s a tear-jerker. Written by Kurt Busiek, Superman #712 (2011) is a deeply emotional issue that focuses on Krypto’s search for Connor Kent (Superboy), who tragically died in the aftermath of Infinite Crisis. Connor fought hard to be accepted not just as a clone of Superman, but as a hero in his own right. Throughout this journey, he formed a strong bond with Krypto that is showcased perfectly in this story. For a mostly silent issue, it explores Krypto’s grief and determination as he searches for Connor, tracking those last moments and reflecting the deep emotional connection they shared (as much as a super dog can). It’s a moving portrayal of loss, heroism, and the unshakeable bond between Krypto and Connor, leaving a lasting impact on readers. Man, James Gunn better never kill this dog or we’ll never recover. We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 93% with a high sale of $50 for a NM copy and a current VF raw price of $19. Fun fact: the 1:10 variant is a nice piece of early artwork from Mr. Stanley “Artgerm” Lau.
5 The Spectre #54
For comic fans or event the casual fans of the various animated Justice League WB shows, seeing Mr. Terrific alongside Superman on screen will be an exciting dynamic for a few reasons. Mr. Terrific, also known as Michael Holt, is a brilliant mind—arguably one of the smartest characters in the DC Universe. His expertise in science, technology, and strategy would complement Superman’s raw power, creating an intriguing contrast between brains and brawn. Mr. Terrific’s “fair play” philosophy, combined with his high-tech gadgets and his iconic T-Spheres, would bring a unique, grounded intelligence to the dynamic with Superman. Their differing approaches—Superman’s idealism and Mr. Terrific’s pragmatic problem-solving—will surely make for a compelling partnership. James Gunn has expressed his enthusiasm for featuring Mister Terrific in the upcoming Superman film, highlighting the character’s significant role in the plot. He stated, “I love Mister Terrific. These characters all get their moment in the sun. He actually has a big part of the plot.” We tracked 24 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 38% with a high sale of $340 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current NM raw price of $143.
6 Ultimate Universe: One Year In #1 – Alessandro Cappuccio – Spoiler
It’s been a collector and readers market lately. Thanks to low content news, series like Mark Spears’ “Monsters,” DC’s Absolute line and Marvel’s Ultimate world have dominated these lists for months now. While those are far from done, the content-based takeover is a powerful mover in terms of aftermarket traction. It’s nice to see Ultimate Wolverine sink his claws into the Top 10 and hold his ground. We tracked 51 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 23% with a high sale of $60 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current NM raw price of $16.
7 Deadly Tales Of The Gunslinger #1 – Todd McFarlane – B&W Virgin (1:50)
Gunslinger Spawn is a fan favorite version of Todd McFarlane’s original creation. So much so, that interest has been immensely high to explore the Gunslinger’s backstory. Written by Jimmy Palmiotti and illustrated by Patric Reynolds, the issue explores the Gunslinger’s past in the Old West, highlighting his transformation into a hell-powered hero. The narrative intertwines supernatural elements with Western themes, offering a gritty and visceral portrayal of the character’s journey. AIPT Comics notes that the series “runs on blood, bullets, and badassery.” And Spawn fans LOVE their variants, who were treated to this rare 1:50 incentive ratio (it feels like it’s been a while). We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 24% with a high sale of $130 for a NM copy and a current NM raw price of $112.W Virgin (1:50)
8 Sonic The Hedgehog #75 – Tyson Hesse – Cover RI (1:50)
Sonic variants are incredibly unpredictable in the aftermarket. Many, despite no key details, trend for high prices simply due to their scarcity and immensely devoted fanbase. While this issue is a monumental 75th for IDW, the likelihood of most shops ordering 50 copies to get this one variant is very low. Hence, those Sonic fans (on a Sonic 3 film weekend no less) had to turn to online sales. And boy did they speed that FMV up! We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 24% with a high sale of $160 for a NM copy and a current NM raw price of $148.
9 It’s Jeff #1 – Gurihiru – Regular
Returning to the Top 10 this week, this standard issue has slowed in sales (a bit), yet it has still increased in price. For this to become an $40 to $80 book in less then a year has been one of the biggest surprises of 2024. For those that jumped in early to this adorably shark infested water, well done. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16% with a high sale of $80 for a NM copy and a current NM raw price of $54.
10 JSA Secret Files & Origins #1
JSA: Secret Files & Origins #1, written by James Robinson, with artwork by David Goyer and Stephen Sadowski introduced Kendra Saunders as the second Hawkgirl, giving her a fresh and impactful role in the DC Universe as part of the Justice Society of America. Inspired by her appearance in the recent Superman film trailer (as played by Isabela Merced), Hawkgirl is seen in action, promising a significant role in the upcoming film. This live-action debut has sparked renewed interest in her comic book origins, leading collectors and fans to revisit her first appearance. We tracked 8 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 50% with a high sale of $24 for a NM copy and a current NM raw price of $17.
