RUNNERS UP

11 Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace #3
Last week, it was announced that Darth Maul would be receiving an animated series next year on Disney+. That immediately sent the market searching for Maul-centric books, and this one led the pack. Being the first cover appearance of Maul, and an awesome cover at that, caused this book to see a massive surge in aftermarket attention! We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 58%, with a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $31.

12 The Omega Men #3
Speculation that Jason Momoa would play Lobo has been circulating the internet for years before finally being confirmed he would be in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Set photos have been steadily leaking online (both real and AI-generated), and fans are excited to see him take the screen next year. In preparation, collectors are securing Lobo’s first appearance at a steady clip. We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 23%, with a high sale of $405 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $371.

13 Hellverine #5 – Alessandro Cappuccio – Hell Hulk
The Hellverine hype came out of left field, but it appears to be here to stay with this book. The cover depicts Hell Hulk for the first time, and the trend of Hellverizing characters is starting to pick up steam. It’s been hot for weeks now, and that continues! We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 19%, with a high sale of $30 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $14.

14 The Sentry #1 – Jae Lee – Regular
Last week, early reviews for Thunderbolts* started to hit the internet, and they were overwhelmingly positive. That got even more fans interested in the “big bad” of the upcoming film, the Sentry, or better yet, the Void. One of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, and likely the least well-known of that small group, fans were curious about the first appearance of the Sentry in this book. Then, the trailers and TV spots began to hit, and interest started to pick up steam. Thunderbolts* releases this week, and it will be interesting to see if that momentum continues. We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7%, with a high sale of $299 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $99.

15 Spawn #1 – Todd McFarlane – Direct
This list wouldn’t be this list without a Spawn appearance. His creator, Todd McFarlane, has been in the headlines recently due to a licensing scenario with his action figure lines. Inevitably, the conversation shifts toward Spawn, the ongoing titles, and, of course, the long-awaited reboot. No new news to report there, but once again, the debut issue of Spawn is cementing itself as the aftermarket king. We tracked 28 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 68%, with a high sale of $113 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $29.

16 Return Of The Living Dead #1 – Mark Spears – Regular
At this point, what is more synonymous with Monsters than Mark Spears? Honestly, the guy has found his niche and is crushing the genre. He’s expanding into Superhero territory, but his beginnings are horror-based. That’s part of the reason why his name has popped up so frequently. The horror subset of this hobby has exploded in popularity over the past year, and so has Mark Spears. As new collectors discover his work, they are constantly backtracking to secure his previous works, inspiring new collectors and breathing the inspiration to go back issue hunting. Oh, the cycle continues! We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7%, with a high sale of $67 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $6.

17 Green Lantern #22 – Mark Spears (1:25)
See? Mark Spears in Superhero territory. He brought his talents to the Green Lantern run, specifically, the highest ratio variant for this issue. There aren’t any other big events going on within, which leads to fewer LCS opting to order enough copies to hit the ratio. That leads to a market squeeze, and those eager to get their hands on this book are having to drop big money to get it. It will be interesting to see how this book fares in the long run. We tracked eight copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 15%, with a high sale of $40 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $37.

18 Daredevil #183 – Direct
Daredevil: Born Again season one just ended, reuniting Daredevil and the Punisher, albeit briefly. The stage is set for more interactions in season two, which inevitably gets collectors looking toward this book. It’s the most iconic issue featuring the two, especially when tempers are high within the TV show. It’s a showdown fans are eager to get again, and they often pick up this book in spades whenever that’s teased or we get close to the real thing. We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 177%, with a high sale of $161 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $29.

19 The Amazing Spider-Man Vol.1 #129
Now, this is a big book, being the first appearance of the Punisher and all. He’s been in the headlines lately for IRL reasons and in-universe reasons. Daredevil: Born Again just ended and left his storyline on a bit of a cliffhanger. The community feels they’re setting up something big for next season, and the aftermarket has acted accordingly. We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 21%, with a high sale of $3,000 for a CGC 9.2 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $732.

20 Spawn #9
Medieval Spawn is getting his own dedicated run, so fans have to check out his first appearance in this book! While being the first appearance of Medieval Spawn, it also features the first appearance of Angela, who is now a Marvel property, and Cogliostro. It’s a multifaceted book and a cheap key for collectors of this new run to hop on! We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 53%, with a high sale of $80 for a CGC 9.8 raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $8.
