RUNNERS UP
11 Thunderbolts Vol.1 #1 – Direct
**SPOILERS AHEAD** The Thunderbolts are here! After the debut of the film, many changes to the MCU were teased. In this comic, the Thunderbolts are revealed to be former villains who are now acting as heroes. In Thunderbolts*, the surprise comes from revealing these former anti-heroes are now the New Avengers. It is an interesting twist and Marvel is counting on this being a hit. It’s so much so that they have already revealed this twist on social media despite the film only being released this past weekend! We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 47%, with a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $22.
12 Stillwater #1 – Aaron Bartling (Limited 500)
If anything can rekindle interest in a dollar bin book, it’s a live-action announcement. Amazon just announced that they will be producing a series based on this comic. Amazon has been on fire since their last comic adaptations, Invincible, and The Boys, and fans are expecting that same quality for this property. The cover A of this book made it to our Top Ten this week. And this limited edition cover is also making big waves thanks to its limited print run! We tracked seven copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 248%, with a high sale of $80 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $18.
13 All-New Venom #5 – Clayton Crain – Suspect E – Mary Jane – Surprise (1 Per Store)
When the All-New Venom was announced, the mystery behind this new Venom was a huge selling point. Solicits for issue #5 teased that this issue would be the big reveal. Every variant featured a different suspect on the cover, but Marvel still had one more up their sleeve. Unbeknownst to fans, retailers received a one-per-store exclusive variant by Clayton Crain that featured Mary Jane as the new Venom! This variant was the correct answer to the identity question, and combined with its rarity, it immediately shot up in value on the aftermarket! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 17%, with a high sale of $55 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $43.
14 Bitter Root: The Next Movement #2 – Peach Momoko (1:25)
Back in 2021, Bitter Root was announced to be receiving the movie treatment from Regina King and Ryan Coogler. It was big news and shone a huge spotlight on the Bitter Root series. Since that announcement, news on the project has been next to nonexistent. However, fans of the series were happy to hear that the comic run was returning! In BITTER ROOT, the story takes place during the Harlem Renaissance. This chapter will take place during the Civil Rights Movement, as even deadlier monsters are born! What better way to celebrate the 2nd issue in this new chapter than with a retailer incentive by Peach Momoko! The cover was a hit and is soaring up in aftermarket value! We tracked six copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7%, with a high sale of $80 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $68.
15 Something Is Killing The Children #41 – Anwita Citriya (1:10)
All a cover needs is great artwork, and the fans will come. Citriya delivered with a badass cover of Erica Slaughter wielding her weapon with blood splattering across her face. Not only that, but this dark cover also highlights her glowing eyes in a haunting fashion. The artwork was so prominent that this retailer incentive is the only one to make it to our top lists out of 5 retailer incentives, reaching up to 1:75! We tracked 44 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 35%, with a high sale of $70 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $7.
16 Black Widow Vol.1 #1
While the movie may have been called Thunderbolts* Yelena took the lead as the film’s protagonist. She had a fantastic emotional arc, and Florence Pugh brought a gravitas to the character in every scene. Yelena struck a chord with many fans, causing them to hunt down her first appearance on the aftermarket. This book might have good value in the future, given the state of the “Thunderbolts” team at the end of the film. At least at this moment, it looks like Marvel has big plans for them! We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 26%, with a high sale of $158 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $22.
17 The Sentry Vol.1 #1 – Jae Lee – 2000 SDCC
Robert Reynolds, aka Bob, made a huge impact during his debut in the Thunderbolts* film. The movie did not shy away from Bob/Sentry/Void’s mental health struggles and made it a focal point of his “defeat.” Lewis Pullman brought his all to the character, which was extremely well received. It makes sense to see his first appearance on our top lists, especially the 2000 SDCC variant that showcases Sentry in a silhouette, reminiscent of the Void! We tracked seven copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 13%, with a high sale of $237 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $87.
18 Star Wars: Legacy #2
Maul is causing tons of hype for Star Wars fans! The series was announced a few weeks ago, but we have yet to see any previews. Only those that were in attendance were shown a brief teaser. However, from those descriptions, a safe bet fans are making is seeing the appearance of Darth Talon. A description of a character that matched her species was mentioned, and that was enough for collectors to flood the aftermarket, hunting down a copy of her first appearance and origin! We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 11%, with a high sale of $145 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $33.
19 Inhumans Vol.2 #5
The Yelena love continues! Florence Pugh brought her all to her role with Yelena in Thunderbolts*. The film is receiving rave reviews, and her performance is a huge part. It may have taken some time, but Yelena has become the true successor to Black Widow and, at the same time, a character of her own. Fans are hunting down all her first appearance keys this week, including her cameo! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7%, with a high sale of $170 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $49.
20 Eddie Brock: Carnage #3 – Mike Mayhew (1:25)
Mike Mayhew delivered fire with this cover! Venom gets tons of love but this Carnage cover has taken the spotlight. Most collectors of Carnage cannot wait to get their hands on this copy. While this cover may have even created new fans of Carnage covers. It was trending last week and continues to trend this week. We all want a piece of this retailer incentive symbiote! We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 21% with a high sale of $75 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $68.
