RUNNERS UP

11 Sonic The Hedgehog #78 – Nathalie Fourdraine – Cover RI (1:10)
Nathalie Fourdraine’s distinctive artwork has significantly impacted Sonic comic book covers, captivating fans with her unique style. Her covers, often featured as retailer incentive variants, are highly sought after by collectors. Fourdraine has amazingly beautiful designs that bring the Sonic characters to life, making each cover a prized possession for enthusiasts. The combination of her artistic flair and the popularity of the Sonic franchise drives fans to actively pursue and collect these covers. This is nowhere near the first or the last time that we see Fourdraine’s retailer incentive covers on our top lists! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7%, with a high sale of $20 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $17.

12 Hello Darkness #10 – Rebeca Puebla (1:10)
Going from a Sonic retailer incentive into this cover can be jarring. The haunting image is gorgeous in all the horrifically right ways. In a time when we see more horror covers trending, Puebla delivered a show-stopper. Perhaps the best part is the choice to exclude color from the artwork, giving it even more of a chilling appearance. Even if you aren’t following the series, this cover is a great addition to fans of horror covers. It will likely bring around a lot more eyes to the rest of Puebla’s artwork! We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 66%, with a high sale of $20 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $15.

13 Grommets #7 – Robert Quinn (1:10)
Here is one we haven’t seen in a while! For the first few issues, the 1:10 retailer incentives for Grommets were flying off the shelves and the aftermarket. There have been a couple of issues, but it looks like issue #7 is set to be brought back onto our lists! It could be because this is the last issue in the mini-series. Grommets was a hit when it debuted, as many of the readers related to the nostalgic coming-of-age story. It is great to see the final issue say its farewell on our top lists. We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 30%, with a high sale of $13 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $11.

14 Something Is Killing The Children #41 – Anwita Citriya (1:10)
This book made a jump up on our lists, coming from #15 last week. It has been moving in huge waves on the aftermarket. None of the other retailer incentives from this issue have been making that big of an impact. Fans seemed to have resonated more with this artwork than the rest. It is a great headshot of Slaughter and her glowing eyes. Throw in a gnarly blood splatter, and you have a book that has been trending for 2 weeks! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 107%, with a high sale of $30 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $10.

15 Captain America #6 – Steve Epting – Regular
While the Winter Soldier didn’t feature heavily in Thunderbolts*, he made a hell of an impact. His appearance was what solidified the team and really brought them together. While he may have spent a portion of the film in his political role, the mid-to-climax of the film lets us enjoy Bucky in all of his awesomeness. It doesn’t seem like Bucky will be exiting the MCU anytime soon, so why not pick up his first full appearance? Everyone else is! We tracked 12 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 10%, with a high sale of $215 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $58.

16 The Avengers Vol.1 #43
While this is not the front of a Wheaties box, this is still a great collector’s item. The Red Guardians debuted in the MCU in Black Widow and was mostly forgotten after that movie. Four years later, we also get to see the spotlight shine on Alexei. We got to learn more about him as a character and got to see the emotional depth that David Harbour brought to the role. It was enough to make any fan get on the aftermarket and hunt down the character’s first appearance for their collection! We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 3%, with a high sale of $87 for a FN raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $54.

17 Captain America Vol.1 #323
The MCU introduced fans to John Walker in Falcon and the Winter Soldier as the new Captain America. We also were introduced to the Power Broker. Interestingly, these two characters have a shared history in comics that is sort of a prologue to John Walker’s Captain America. Before that, Walker was a veteran seeking to be a hero. He made a deal with the Power Broker to receive superhuman powers and, soon enough, donned a costume. This was not any of his MCU identities, though. Instead, he debuted as the “hero” known as Super Patriot in this issue! He goes on to challenge Captain America to a fight in issue #327 and attempts to take over Steve Roger’s role as the nation’s symbol of freedom. We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 6%, with a high sale of $160 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $28.

18 Captain America Vol.1 #354
After his repeated attempts to become the new Captain America, John Walker settles on becoming a new hero, US Agent. This lines up with John Walker’s journey in the MCU’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In an after-credits scene, we see Valentina Allegra de Fontaine redesign Walker’s costume into the US Agent. He, assumingly, has continued that role and worked with Valentina all the way up to the Thunderbolts* film. If you prefer this version of John Walker, this book is also a hot copy to track down! We tracked 10 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 2%, with a high sale of $200 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $16.

19 Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #8 – Direct
In an interview with CBR, Tom Hardy reflected on what he alludes to as a closed door on a Venom/Spider-Man crossover. The actor talks about how the film almost happened but then was left on the drawing board. Between this news and more news of Mr. Negative being the big bad in Brand New Day, it is unlikely we will see Tom Hardy’s Venom in the MCU. However, that doesn’t stop fans from speculating that the symbiote will appear during the multiversal event set to occur in Avengers: Secret Wars. Who’s to say what that movie will bring?! Either way, this book never needed media hype to be a top seller, and this past week, fans were happily collecting this key Spider-Man issue. We tracked 24 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 24%, with a high sale of $475 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $152.

20 Spawn #1 – Todd McFarlane – Direct
In one month, the Spawn universe will receive a new addition to the series, BLOODLETTER. This book is set to arrive in stores on June 18th, and it is building up tons of hype. When hype builds around Spawn, we always see his #1 issue start to trend again! It is, without a doubt, the biggest repeat contender on our Top Ten and Runner-Up lists. SPAWN #1 is a fun collector’s item to track down, and fans have been doing just that this past week! We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 6%, with a high sale of $110 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $16.
