THE TOP 10

1 The Silver Surfer Vol.1 #18
The Silver Surfer has been seeing some serious aftermarket action for good reason. The MCU just received the Shalla-Bal version of the character in theatres, which drove scores of new and old comic heads to the aftermarket. Noran Radd, the original Silver Surfer, has received the majority of the attention as the definitive Surfer, leading collectors down a stellar run of late ’60s, early ’70s greatness. Last week, the final issue of the original run of Silver Surfer captured the top spot on our list, and it also happened to be a prominent and the first battle between the Silver Surfer and the Inhumans. But, the question is why is this moving in such a big way? Clearly, 71 collectors know the answer, but this one has us scratching our heads. We tracked 71 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 51% with a high sale of $450 for a CGC 9.2 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $54.

2 The Amazing Spider-Man #10 – Olivier Coipel – Regular
Daniel Kaluuya killed it with his turn at Spider-Punk in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and will reprise the character in Beyond the Spider-Verse. Fans want more, and have made that clear since he took the role. Well, they’re getting it, as it was announced last week that Sony has plans to bring to life a full-length animated Spider-Punk movie with Kaluuya co-writing the script! This book, as the first appearance of Spider-Punk, saw some immediate aftermarket heat. We tracked 51 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 59% with a high sale of $155 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $50.

3 Fantastic Four #554
This book received a share of the limelight in the lead-up to Fantastic Four: First Steps as the actors portraying the First Family delivered their own rendition of this cover to the internet. That put eyes on this book, but fans are diving deeper. This is the book where the second child of Reed and Sue, Valeria, ages up into an adult, and all the hijinks accelerate. Valeria is playing a large role in the Fantastic Four comics, and, considering her intelligence, fans can’t help but wonder if we’ll see her in the MCU. We tracked 23 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 126% with a high sale of $63 for a VF copy and a current raw NM FMV of $21.

4 Amazing Spider-Man #9 – J. Scott Campbell – Just Spectacular Collection Virgin (1:100)
The J. Scott Campbell “Just Spectacular Collection” hit the market, and we’re already seeing what fans were after. This book might be the winner and the most expensive of the 28 covers set to release. Featuring Campbell’s iconic MJ on a virgin variant cover, this 1:100 is already demanding ratio and a half! No surprise, as when Campbell delivers a Mary Jane Watson cover, collectors line up to secure a copy. We tracked eight copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 80% with a high sale of $150 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $148.

5 T.A.M.A. #1 – Tony Fleecs – Video Game Homage (1:10)
T.A.M.A. has an interesting premise, which immediately got collectors on board. Many likely had some form of virtual pet back in the day, and most likely thought about what would happen if it turned evil, came to life, or was as important as we felt they were at the time. Well, now we know! This 1:10 from Tony Fleecs captured the attention of collectors, as it homages Pokémon, arguably the introduction to virtual pets for the vast majority out there. We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 15% with a high sale of $50 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $26.

6 The Amazing Spider-Man #546 – Steve McNiven – Regular
As more information drops about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the more collectors are looking at this book. It obviously shares the title with the film, but fans want to know if it shares more. This book features the first appearance of Mr. Negative, a newer villain who would be an awesome addition to the MCU. It’s also the first appearance of Freak and the second Jackpot. The community hasn’t received anything specific, yet, except for a few set photo leaks, but that hasn’t stopped collectors from aiming to get in front of any news before it drops. We tracked 30 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 11% with a high sale of $205 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $32.

7 Ultimate Spider-Man #1 – Marco Checchetto – Regular
Fans remember the Ultimate Universe fondly. We choose to ignore Ultimatum and after, but they brought it back in force with this book last year! It introduced Richard and May Parker, and was the first salvo of numerous Ultimate titles hitting shelves once more. But, all good things must end, as this run ends with issue #24 down the road. Thanks for the memories and the future stories born out of this book, with collectors taking a chance to revisit the book that kicked it off. We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 23% with a high sale of $210 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $101.

8 The Amazing Spider-Man #10 – Gabriele Dell’Otto (1:25)
Spider-Man and Gabriel Del’Otto are like peas and carrots. They just go so well together, as evidenced by this 1:25 variant, and the highest of the batch released for this book. It features numerous Spidey versions that collectors wanted a piece of back in the day, despite this title not going gangbusters at the LCS. With the news that Spider-Punk is getting his movie, and his reception after the last animated outing, this book has a whole new spotlight on it, and is moving some copies at a substantial price. We tracked eight copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 30% with a high sale of $420 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $190.

9 Invincible #120
Invincible is alive and well, with a well-received animated series, a new comic mini-series, action figures, video games, apparel, and more hitting the market in droves. The most recent object of desire, Battle Beast, has been feasting on the aftermarket thanks to its mini-series and the epic blind-bag release for issue #1. That’s led many down the winding road that is the Invincible mainline story, and to this book, the end of our beloved feline Battle Beast at the hands of Grand Regent Thragg. It was an epic multi-issue fight that left Thragg at death’s door, and this is an epic cover to mark that point of no return. We tracked eight copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 12% with a high sale of $370 for a NM+ copy and a current raw NM FMV of $267.

10 Superman Unlimited #1 – Dan Mora – James Gunn
This was the book to get during the lead-up to Superman, mostly because it features David Corenswet as Superman next to the film’s director and writer, James Gunn. There was a TON riding on the success of the film, and after a few months, the success seems to be secured. It’s still doing well in theatres, leading collectors back around to this cover, one that’s dropped a bit in price and steadied now that some of the hype has died down. We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 22% with a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $17.
