RUNNERS UP

11 VeeFriends #4 – Jim Mahfood – 2025 SDCC (Limited 309)
Veefriends has been a growing hobby that has slowly made its way into other mediums. Gary Vaynerchuk created Veefriends to establish a community that tied NFTs to real, tangible items. He created 268 characters that are tied to traits he believes are needed to lead successful lives in the professional and personal environment. They live online as blockchains that fans can purchase, which also have real-life functions like special admission to conventions, one-on-one time with Vaynerchuk, and many more. This special, exclusive variant highlights the origins of one of those Veefriends, Harpick. Harpick is a three-horned dragon that is meant to represent “thoughtfulness”. Whether you have heard of Veefriends or not, the characters have a growing fandom, and it looks like they went to the aftermarket to hunt down this SDCC exclusive. We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 5% with a high sale of $300 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $290.

12 Ruxy Vampire #2 – Sveta Shubina – Kickstarter & Indiegogo
Fans of the Ruxy Vampire Kickstarter have received their copy of this issue. Out of all the covers available on Kickstarter, this cover F has drawn the most attention. It is likely due to the artwork by Sveta Shubina. If you haven’t heard of Shubina, they are responsible for a naughty cover on Pop Kill and a few SDCC exclusives like Pinupocalypse and The Curse of Cleaver County. This cover was another hit as fans chased it down on the aftermarket, shortly after its official release. We tracked six copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 100% with a high sale of $100 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $100.

13 Fantastic Four Vol.1 #209 – Direct
Fantastic Four: First Steps kicked off the new phase of the MCU. It had a lot of expectations to live up to, after what many fans felt had been a growingly lackluster universe. However, the movie has debuted to stellar reviews all around, and it looks like we have a strong start to the new future of the MCU! Among the first family of Marvel is H.E.R.B.I.E. His character played a supportive role in the film. The little robot assistant must have made an impact with fans as his first appearance is trending on the aftermarket! We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 68% with a high sale of $40 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $26.

14 Fantastic Four: First Steps #1 – Phil Noto – Regular – Movie Costumes
The retro-futuristic stylization of the Fantastic Four in First Steps was a huge part of the charm of the film. Fans, old and new, loved the callback to the ’60s and how it stood out from most superhero films. It was a callback to a colorful and vibrant era of comic books. This comic book cover recreates the Fantastic Four’s first cover with the costumes from the film. It is a great tribute to the movie and an amazing keepsake for fans of the film. Bonus: it’s also a mini-prequel comic! We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 5% with a high sale of $60 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $18.

15 Fantastic Four: First Steps #1 – Phil Noto – 2025 SDCC
Another great testament to the popularity of the Fantastic Four and their latest film release. Both this book and the previous one were illustrated by Phil Noto, whose artistic style seems a perfect fit for the era of the movie. This variant was also 2025 SDCC exclusive, making it that much more of a highly desirable cover. This portrait of the first family has been hunted down on the after market this past week. We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 2% with a high sale of $50 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $34.

16 The Amazing Spider-Man #129 – Gil Kane – Regular
The new Spider-Man film is well into production! Set photos and leaked pictures are making their way online. Social media is full of fan theories and eagle-eyed fans hunting through pictures for the tiniest spoilers. After the success of Fantastic Four: First Steps, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next MCU film to hit theaters in July 2026. In the meantime, expect tons of interest in where the story could go and lots of comic book key speculation! This isn’t a rumor, though; it has been confirmed that Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will be in the next Spidey film, and fans are picking up his first appearance in anticipation! We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7% with a high sale of $15,000 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $1,007.

17 The New Mutants #98 – Rob Liefeld – Regular
While no one really ever doubted that Deadpool and Wolverine would return to the MCU, it is always nice to have confirmation. In a roundtable interview with Kevin Feige, ComicBook.com reported that Feige has been in talks with Ryan Reynolds about his return. This is the first time since Deadpool & Wolverine that Feige answered whether the duo would return to the MCU. With an all-star cast lined up for Avengers: Doomsday, it makes sense that these two icons would appear once more. As we await further news, the aftermarket is moving tons of Deadpool first appearances! We tracked 35 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 1% with a high sale of $1,100 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $307.

18 Skinbreaker #Ashcan – David Finch
Robert Kirkman (INVINCIBLE, THE WALKING DEAD) is debuting a new story this September! The creator behind two immensely popular series is at it again, and fans are anticipating the start of this new creation. Before the initial release of the first issue, at the end of September, this ashcan is the first look we get at the series. It makes sense that fans would be chasing this down on the aftermarket! We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 8% with a high sale of $30 for a NM+ copy and a current raw NM FMV of $21.

19 Mark Spears Monsters #6 – Mark Spears – The Witch Holofoil (1:50)
During the first week of its release, this book was a Top Ten star. This week, interest has waned, and the book has dropped to #19. It is still a very popular cover, and Mark Spears’ MONSTERS is a top series to collect. This retailer incentive variant still has legs! We tracked seven copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 28% with a high sale of $59 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $54.

20 Mark Spears Monsters #3 – Mark Spears – 2nd Print – Swamp Things (1:20)
Mark Spears delivers a hot cover with the release of a 2nd print for his third issue. This 2nd print retailer incentive brings back the gritty retro horror style that propelled Mark Spears’ fame. It is made to look weathered and features a grotesque floating eyeball at the center of the cover. This cover doesn’t shy away from the horror but basks in the swampy greens as creatures from the lagoon haunt the artwork. A notable masterpiece in the series that has every fan of Spears hitting the aftermarket! We tracked eight copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 31% with a high sale of $90 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $63.
