RUNNERS UP
11 Grim #1 – Mike Del Mundo – Virgin (1:50)
When released, Grim got a staggering number of variants. Now that the option bug has hit, those variants are getting a second look! Take this 1:50 from Mike del Mundo, a book that initially flew under the radar when released, but is now receiving a second round of attention. Collectors tend to grab whatever is available that’s the best bang for their buck, and this 1:50 variant more than satisfied a few collectors! We tracked 7 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 199% with a high sale of $60 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $25.
12 Absolute Batman #12 – Nick Dragotta – Regular
This is a pretty heavy issue content-wise, which was a large draw for a ton of collectors. A ton more want it for the first official cameo of Absolute Catwoman, and others for the first cover appearance of Absolute Killer Croc. A lot is happening with this issue, which is likely why it has been trending for several weeks now as collectors continue to consolidate their Absolute PCs. We tracked 21 copies sold at a 7-day growth trend of 54% with a high sale of $20 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $15.
13 Absolute Batman #8 – Nick Dragotta – Regular
Another Absolute Batman issue! As mentioned in the previous entry, this is also a pretty heavy issue that had fans hooked into the Mr. Freeze storyline, or the Absolute version, that is. Right around this issue is when fans really got on board with the Absolute Batman run, and it’s been off to the races since. We tracked 7 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 62% with a high sale of $59 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $4.
14 Absolute Batman #15 – Jock (1:50)
Collectors have been chomping at the bit for this issue since the cover image of Absolute Joker dropped several months ago. Now that pre-orders are hitting heavy, we’re seeing some of the variants rise to the top of the aftermarket. This 1:50 from Jock is a stellar example, already trading for above ratio, and it hasn’t even dropped yet! The sentiment is that this will be a major issue, and collectors are hopping on board early. We tracked 6 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 46% with a high sale of $140 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $72.
15 Grim #1 – Jenny Frison
When released, this book was heavily speculated on by swaths of the collector base. It felt so similar to SIKTC that it sold out pretty quickly. It was HOT for a period before it completely cooled off. Now look at it. It’s wild that the NM FMV for a Jenny Frison cover fell all the way to $7, but since it’s been optioned, movement has definitely picked up! We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 36% with a high sale of $63 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $7.
16 Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 – Ryan Stegman – Homage
The mashup we needed! Not only did we get the first appearance of Logo (an amalgamation of Wolverine and Lobo), we also got a bunch of killer variants like this one from Ryan Stegman! His homage to the dynamite Hulk #340 cover was a heavy draw for collectors! We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 19% with a high sale of $65 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $20.
17 Mark Spears Monsters #4 – Mark Spears – 2nd Print – Black Cat Mystery #50 Homage (1:25)
Homaging one of the iconic PCH books out there takes some cajones, but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Mark Spears! Nailed it yet again with this 1:25 2nd print variant! It’s another cover in the long list of Spears books driving the aftermarket. At this point, there’s a flavor for everyone. We tracked 6 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 8% with a high sale of $70 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $64.
18 Absolute Batman #2 – Nick Dragotta – Regular
Absolute Batman took collectors off guard, so they’ve been steadily circling back and securing copies. This issue is no different, but has received dramatically less attention than issue #1, despite being chock-full of important first appearances and cameos. It’s a key for a reason, and collectors are moving on it as such. We tracked 23 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 9% with a high sale of $76 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $19.
19 Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1 – Nick Dragotta
While DWJ’s cover received the majority of the attention, Nick Dragotta still dropped a killer cover of his own! As the artist on Absolute Batman thus far, Dragotta knows a thing or two. That shines through on this awesome cover, featuring the Absolute Batmobile in all its glory, and delivers its origin in the pages within to boot. We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 1% with a high sale of $23 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $22.
20 The Twilight Zone #2 – Jim Rugg – Cover RI (1:15)
IDW RI covers (retailer incentive) typically sees some action well down the line after release. They’re typically really limited and don’t show up in LCS often. That’s different for the Twilight Zone! Collectors have been enjoying this trip down memory lane, although it’s still early. To see an RI cover already hitting our list is something, but that speaks to how much collectors want to get their hands on this book. We tracked 8 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7% with a high sale of $20 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $19.
