FINAL ORDER CUT-OFF for JANUARY 12th, 2026!!

Hey everybody! Happy New Year! Yes, you can still say it mid-January…the whole month of January feels like a “new” year. Once February and Groundhog’s Day comes around, I think everyone has hit their stride.

I’d love to tell you this week is a real banger for FOC picks, but it’s mostly new number 1’s, and a few other random books worth noting. Not a bad thing if you’re worried about paying that holiday credit card bill! Let’s jump in.

(Use Code CHU2026 at Shop.Thirdeyecomics.com to save 15% off your order.)

COVERS

Batman #6 (Jim Lee Variant)

Getting “Spider-Man: No More!” vibes from this cover. Feels like an homage, anyway.

Black Cat #7

An interesting Adam Hughes cover…a little suggestive, perhaps…?

Number Ones

Cyclops #1

Scott Summers is a mutant who is always in near-total control of his powers and his emotions. But what happens when he’s separated from the X-Men, lost in a mountain wilderness without the visor that keeps his devastating powers in check? And will he be able to stay alive when Donald Pierce and his cyborgs, the Reavers, are hunting him? It’s a tale of the X-Men’s leader at his most savage core!

D’Orc #1

Armed with nothing but a magical yet ambitiously violent shield, a lonely orphan stumbles headfirst into Sunderaine’s never-ending war between the Light and Dark. Elves vs. Orcs. Wizards vs. Common Sense. Dragons vs. Literally Everyone. And caught dead-center? D’ORC. With a wholly inconvenient doomsday prophecy, the half dwarf, half orc—all D’ORC—is fated to end the world. Soon, every human, elf, goblin, dwarf, Snargletooth, Necroid, Ice Giant, Trauma Llama, and at least three other unpronounceable magical creatures, will know his name and want him dead. There will also be a chicken.

DC X AEW #1

THE SUPERSTARS OF ALL ELITE WRESTLING EXPLODE OUT OF THE RING AND INTO THE DC UNIVERSE! The Intergalactic Title is far more than a championship belt! This Big Galactic Belt is made of pure Element X—the most powerful metal in the universe! Ruptured in a post-match beatdown, the belt scatters across the DC Universe—but every single shard is a weapon that can rewrite reality itself. With the world at stake, the Justice League teams with AEW’s roster to crisscross the globe and recover the shards of the belt before DC’s worst villains use them to turn our world into their deadly playground. It’s the Justice League Elite as you’ve never seen them before—with Excalibur and Booster Gold calling the action!

Punisher #1: Marvel Television Variant

CRIME’S WORST NIGHTMARE IS BACK IN AN ALL-NEW ONGOING SERIES! As unflinching and uncompromising as ever, Frank Castle’s memory is damaged and he’s hunting for answers and criminals alike! He’ll get more than he bargained for of both when the notorious and bloodthirsty JIGSAW returns with THE PUNISHER dead in his sights! RATED PARENTAL ADVISORY.

I feel like we just had a Punisher series…what happened to that?

At least the TV variant is kinda cool…There’s also a Rivals Netease variant.

Smile: For the Camera #1

Pose. Vogue. Couture. Gore. It’s Fashion Month 2005. Five young international models have just landed in New York City, ready to tackle four grueling weeks of runways, press, and cameras as they try to make it big. The girls become fast friends…until one seems to crack under the pressure. Little does everyone know that she is afflicted by the entity, a being bent on destruction and pain as it seeks to destroy lives through its horrific visions. Dive into this never-before-seen story of betrayal and reality bending, based on the critically-acclaimed SMILE film franchise from Parker Finn, as we follow these models’ glamorous, gory descent into insanity. Get ready to smile like you mean it.

Star Wars: Jar Jar #1

CO-WRITTEN BY JAR JAR HIMSELF, AHMED BEST! JAR JAR faces the consequences of giving emergency powers to CHANCELLOR PALPATINE. What pivotal role does Jar Jar play in the formation of the REBEL ALLIANCE? Guest-starring fan-favorite JEDI KNIGHT KELLERAN BEQ!

Because we demanded it…You know this will be so low ordered, I could see the ratio variants getting a premium on the after market…

Wade Wilson: Deadpool #1

DANGEROUS. UNHINGED. DEADLY. Deadpool is a man on the brink, and that means the jobs are deadlier, the stakes are higher, and the humor is darker than ever before. But Wade Wilson isn’t laughing. A dark memory haunts Deadpool, as a mysterious client leads him down a troubling path. This way lies redemption? No, something far worse. Wade can never be forgiven for what he’s done… the new ongoing series begins!

FIRST APPEARANCES

DC K.O. Knightfight #4 (of 4)

Damian’s son (i.e., Batman’s Grandson) first appeared in a last page cameo in issue #3, but this is his first cover. And for all we know af the end of this K.O. event, everything may get reset…but speculators don’t necessarily care about “in continuity” anymore. Could also be some sort of scam…but should find out this issue as it’s the end of the mini-series! Cover is by Dan Mora.

READS

Absolute Superman #16

A CRUCIAL FOLLOW-UP TO ABSOLUTE EVIL #1! Superman finds himself at the forefront of a bold new age of heroes in the Absolute Universe, but he quickly learns that he wasn’t the world’s first super-powered protector. Enter Hawkman, who has a few tips for the new kid, whether he wants to hear them or not!

I believe Hawkman debuted in Absolute Evil #1, but this issue Sups and Hawkman trade blows! Cool cover.

PICK OF THE WEEK

DC K.O. Boss Battle #1 (Cover C – Horvath Variant)

TO SAVE OUR WORLD, THEY MUST BATTLE THE CHAMPIONS OF OTHER WORLDS! Unexpected fighters from beyond the DC Comics enter the arena! Wait… What? WHO?! As the remaining champions in the K.O. tournament prepare for the final rounds, they discover that there isn’t enough Omega energy left to crown the winner a King Omega. To have any hope of stopping Darkseid, they’ll need to engage in combat with the champions of other worlds beyond our own including Annabelle, Homelander, Sub-Zero, and more! This shocking, star-studded crossover sets the stage for the final chapters of the epic DC K.O. event and features matchups you never imagined possible. The ultimate battle is only beginning!

DC K.O. is about to get really weird. And this cover kind of sums it up best. Joker & Annabelle (from Beneath the Trees)??? I think this could be a cool one-shot, and if there’s any spec coming out of it, I’m betting on this cover. In somewhat of a slow start to the year, that is why this book is the Dirty D Pick of the Week.
