11 It’s Jeff Meets Daredevil #1 – Nic Klein – Jaws Homage
Homage covers are always a fun collector’s item to chase down. Especially when it is a parody of a classic film, using two beloved comic characters. Between Jeff the Land Shark and Daredevil, the latter is definitely the more terrifying of the two. Jeff has been a beloved Marvel character who doesn’t fit the sinister ruthlessness of the shark in Jaws. Daredevil, on the other hand, is a predator. He hunts down criminals from the shadows and attacks when they least suspect. It makes sense that he takes the place of the Jaws shark in this fun homage to the classic Spielberg film! While exclusive covers for D’ORC have been soaring in popularity, the open order covers are still moving fast. Out of all the covers for the first issue, this is the only one that features a unicorn. *SPOILER ALERT* A decapitated unicorn is shown on the first page of the issue, being the main reason two parties engage in a battle. In a world of sentient shields and floating chicken heads, it appears that unicorns hold major significance. Maybe this is a cover to hold on to for the long run! It features a heart-warming horror story. The storytellers made a bold choice of taking the readers on a journey that would end with them caring about the zombie in a post-apocalyptic setting.
