RUNNERS UP
11 DC/Marvel: Superman/Spider-Man #1 – Gabriele Dell’Otto – Superman & Spider-Man Black Suits
The fan-favorite black suits Spider-Man and Superman are back again! It may have dropped from last week’s #3 spot, but make no mistake that the FMV is holding strong. Superman and Spider-Man are arguably DC and Marvel’s most recognizable characters, respectively. They have both been symbols of hope and unity. However, every hero had their dark phase, and this cover captures it perfectly. Can you imagine a world where these two met at the darkest parts of their lives? That would make for a very dystopian comic book… We tracked 54 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 11% with a high sale of $36 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $22.
12 Iron Man Vol 1 #150 – Direct
We’re still a long way away from the Avengers: Doomsday release, but RDJ doesn’t want you to forget about it! In true Marvel cryptic fashion, Robert Downey, Jr. posted a picture to his Instagram to celebrate the Easter holiday. The illustration was of Doom holding an Easter basket with many Marvel logos on it (including Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and X-Men). Even before this picture was posted, rumors about the film started to surface. The biggest rumor was that we would see a showdown between RDJ’s Iron Man and Dr. Doom. There is no evidence to support this rumor yet but the speculation took off. It took this iconic John Romita Jr. cover beyond the stars on the aftermarket. We tracked 7 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 59% with a high sale of $800 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $85.
13 Absolute Batman #1 – Javier Fernandez – The Comic Corner – 10th Print – Akira Homage – Foil (Limited 2500)
ABSOLUTE BATMAN is still one of the top-selling comic series. The first issue is still in high demand and the subsequently released variant covers also fetch a high value. This variant cover puts Absolute Batman in the iconic Akira homage cover. It also adds a bit of flare with a foil cover and limits this cover to 2500. Even though this cover was released back in January, it experienced another spike this past week. Fans just can’t get enough of hunting this book down! We tracked 9 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 3% with a high sale of $135 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $73.
14 Kill All Immortals II #3 – Dan Quintana
Dan Quintana has been on a major roll with his covers. Quintana has been an increasingly popular comic book cover artist in recent months. We have seen more and more of his covers hit huge spikes on the aftermarket. This comic was months in the making. After experiencing several delays, the book was postponed from December to March. As soon as it dropped, fans of the series and fans of Quintana quickly scooped the book off the shelves. We tracked 8 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 31% with a high sale of $28 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $24.
15 Alien: King Killer #1 – Alex Maleev – Virgin (1:50)
Alex Maleev brought the heat with this Alien cover! ALIEN: KING KILLER is advertised as one of Marvel’s darkest Alien stories yet. Its setting is a post-apocalyptic world where the Xenomorphs have triumphed over humanity. It is a limited series and it kicked off with a bang, especially with this 1:50 retailer incentive. There is a trade dress version of Maleev’s artwork but how can someone not want this on a virgin cover? That is what most collectors thought when they saw this artwork, and it blew up on the aftermarket. We tracked 7 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 100% with a high sale of $60 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $58.
16 D’Orc #1 – Brett Bean – Regular
D’ORC was a huge February trend and he’s not out of the running! D’ORC is still a top trending book, with Cover A being a huge hit. The book was slightly sidelined by exclusives but still held its own on our lists. Now that the con fever is slowly receding, D’ORC is making its comeback. It jumped two spots, from #18 last week. There is still a high demand and desirability to collect this hit new series! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 5% with a high sale of $230 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $96.
17 White Sky #1 – Jean Paul Mavinga – Regular
WHITE SKY was also a huge hit when it was released. It had a strong trend, much like D’ORC, on the aftermarket. It only got a little impacted during the con exclusive rush. As the con exclusives find their way to their forever homes, collectors are refocused on the hit new series that debuted from Image this year. The trends are returning, and the fans have not forgotten about WHITE SKY! We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 18% with a high sale of $153 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $26.
18 Invincible Returns #1 – Tyler Kirkham – 2026 C2E2 – Davis Rider Comics – Foil (Limited 1200)
INVINCIBLE returns! Both in this series and in the animated Amazon series, the latter the most recent. Invincible has been extremely faithful to the comic books. It has even begun teasing the arrival of the new big bad, Thragg. Thragg features in this comic exclusive cover. What better candidate for Kirkham’s “Battle Damage” cover line than Thragg? His battles are legendary and bloody. Given the last episode of Invincible, the show will not be shying away from the intensity of the blood and gore featured in the comic books. Thragg will be shown in all his savagery. We tracked 35 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 1% with a high sale of $150 for a NM+ copy and a current raw NM FMV of $127.
19 Monstress #1 – Sana Takeda – Regular
MONSTRESS is the latest comic book property to receive the adaptation treatment! Co-creator and former Netflix One Piece showrunner, Steven Maeda, is taking on the task of adapting this property as an animated series for Amazon. Following along the lines of animated series like Invincible, this will not be an animated property geared towards young children. This will be an adult animation for the award-winning comic book series. Fans are hyped for the show and took to the aftermarket to find a copy of the first issue for themselves! We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 4% with a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $66.
20 Capes #5 – Cory Walker (1:10)
If you think that this cover puts a super heroine in her underwear to sell covers, you would actually be wrong this time. The cover, depicting hero Claire Voyant, is her actual superhero costume. She was first introduced in CAPES #1 (2003) and her costume has not been updated much since then. Claire is very clearly the parodic representation of the non-battle-ready costumes that female superheroes are illustrated wearing. Still, she has a ton of sex appeal and that cover drew in a lot of fans. It was the #1 book last week and, while it did drop, it has still been doing well on the aftermarket. We tracked 51 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 5% with a high sale of $58 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $48.
