New Series
Barbara Gordon Breakout #1 – After Barbara Gordon is arrested for aiding the Bat-Family, she is shipped off to Supermax, GCPD Commissioner Vandal Savage’s pet-project prison for all who oppose him. She will find herself alone, surrounded by dangerous criminals and equally dangerous guards, in a place where nothing is what it seems. The true danger is just beginning…

Hidden Springs #1 (eBay) – This one looks interesting. While on a retirement community field trip, a group of ageing ex-Hollywood stars encounter a baby KAIJU on the run from military agents. Bonding quickly with the creature, the cantankerous cadre of former celebrities have to somehow get the kaiju to safety—before it causes the end of the world! Kaiju powers plus grandparent follies.

Joe Palmers Destination Kill #1 – THE FUTURE IS A RIOT! In the footsteps ofJUDGE DREDD, V FOR VENDETTA, andTANK GIRL, the first great milestone in 22nd-century science fiction is here! Written, illustrated, and hand-lettered by British comics virtuoso Joe Palmer (Time Before Time), DESTINATION KILL is powered by the thrum of a million gigawatts of nonstop visual firepower . . . as rendered by one of the most incendiary visual storytellers in comics today. The year is 2125, and the all-powerful corporation Overcon uses its robot workers to pour our drinks and dispense our meds, all while rebuilding London’s Central City into a hyper-modern megalopolis bolted together in its own image. But as Overcon prepares to celebrate the first year of its Paradise Loop—a superfast transatlantic train that connects the Central City to New York in under 60 minutes—an unwieldy army of displaced human workers floods the streets with weapons, plotting an attack at the anniversary gala. Enter: Gina Serene, a stressed-out, pill-popping police detective in desperate need of a vacation and her ex-partner turned P.I., Lance Wingman—who are now the only thing standing between Overcon’s skyscraper-sized fist and the worker uprising that threatens to bring Britain’s capital crashing down around them.

Olympus Saga Megalith #1 – From New York Times best-selling writer Matt Kindt (BRZRKR, THE HERO TRADE) and master illustrator Lewis LaRosa (PUNISHER MAX, BLOODSHOT) comes an explosive cosmic odyssey of unparalleled scope and artistry. Twenty minutes ago, a massive monolith crashed into the heart of Baltimore, obliterating 16 square blocks. No one knows where it came from or why. Somehow, the monstrous deep space object evaded the global surveillance net. Three elite breach teams were dispatched to penetrate its outer shell and disable it. Ten minutes ago, it sprouted tendrils that began ripping apart nearby streets, cars and even people using the raw material to print itself larger. Police, SWAT, the Feds, even NORAD were powerless to stop it. Just two minutes ago, the megalithic anomaly achieved its final form — a gigantic, hundred-story tall, humanoid, mecha-robot — then began marching towards Washington, DC. Now, our only hope is Officer Jack Casey, a beat cop scarred by the past, who along with what remains of the breach teams must scale the robot from the inside. If they can reach the head, they can destroy it, but time is running out. The government has scrambled a nuclear response and the world has just learned that a second, bigger monolith is about to impact Earth.

Spectacular Spider-Man Brand New Day #1 – Revisit one of the most transformative periods of Spider-Man history with some of the creators who made it happen! Spider-Man discovers one of the most valuable items the Kingpin, aka Wilson Fisk possesses — THE LEXICON. This discovery of the Kingpin’s criminal enterprise could destroy the criminal landscape of New York City, and that’s Spider-Man’s goal when he takes it. But Fisk isn’t the only person who wants the Lexicon…Mr. Negative would love his competitor’s secret information, but so would Frank Castle, A.K.A. THE PUNISHER. Taking the Lexicon sure seemed like a good idea to make the city safer, but it’s painted the biggest target ever on Spider-Man’s back! DO NOT MISS THIS IN-CONTINUITY ADVENTURE THAT WILL ECHO FROM SPIDER-MAN’S PAST INTO SPIDER-MAN’S PRESENT AND FUTURE!

Absolute Batman #20 – The Robins were introduced last issue, now meet their giant mech suits, and in case you read the spoilers for #19 and thought I was kidding.

Amazing Spider-Man Venom Death Spiral Body Count #1 – The character Torment gets his story told, and identity revealed.

Notable Reprints
Action Comics #583 Facsimile Edition – The Alan Moore written “Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?” concludes as the Silver Age Superman makes his final stand against his greatest enemies, defending his loved ones from within a besieged Fortress of Solitude!

Justice League Of America #75 Facsimile Edition – When Green Arrow’s identity crisis inadvertently causes the League’s darker selves to take physical form and attack, the JLA requires all the help it can get. Luckily, prospective member Black Canary is on hand, having just emigrated from Earth-2—but will a new mysteriously acquired ultra-sonic power be a help or a hindrance to her?

Pick of the Week

Star Wars Shadow Of Maul #3 Photo Variant Cover (eBay) – this book has the most potential overall this week. The 1:10 variant features a Palawan named Devon on it, rumors are betting she becomes Darth Talon. If this is true and she becomes canon, this cover could be big.
