The bestselling, award winning creative team behind such sales chart toppers as Descender, Ascender, and Little Monsters—Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen—have caught lightning in a bottle once again with yesterday’s Crowbound launch. Copies of this highly anticipated premiere issue have been wiped out completely at the distributor level and Image Comics has greenlit a reprint in order to keep up with rising reorder activity.
Fans are advised to hit up their local comic shop post haste to check for any remaining first printing copies before it’s too late.
The Crowbound #1, second printing will also feature two covers: a stunning new cover by Nguyen as well as a virgin variation on the first printing cover art.
“Dustin and I have fallen in love with the world of Crowbound and hoped it would strike a chord, but we’re overwhelmed by the response,” said Lemire. “We have big plans for the book and this kind of start, and support from readers and retailers, really energizes us even more to try and tell a huge, emotional epic like we did with Descender and Ascender.”
In Crowbound #1, readers meet Rose. She works in the Factory just like everyone else—a dark, sprawling monolithic structure that runs along the coast and cuts the world in two. All that’s left now are desolate settlements that exist in its shadow, made up of submerged villages, derelict woods, and deadly swamps. No one knows what’s left of the world on the other side…
But when Rose’s young daughter Ava is violently taken from their shanty town home a year before she is meant to join the work force, Rose will come face-to-face with the surreal, harrowing forces outside the Factory’s walls.
