Happy Daylight Savings…or end of Daylight Savings…the only thing good about it is when you get that extra hour of sleep in the fall when it ends. Oh, but when it returns in the spring…it’s painful…
Anyway, we get an extra hour to look at books this week and pick out the next Detective 880 Lego variant and Absolute Batman 25 Shonen Jump homage! Although I’ll be honest I think this weeks picks are a bit of a stretch…hard to find ones that stood out.

COVERS
Series has been gaining traction. Although these sideways variants haven’t caught much heat, I prefer them over the other covers.
Very odd looking cover. The can of “Hurm” cracks me up, though.
NIGHT SHIFT CONTINUES! MYSTERY IN METROPOLIS! An old friend of Superman has gone missing in Metropolis. And they are not alone. Superman must show how he is not only a great hero but a great detective to uncover the truth behind a secret cult in Metropolis. But his search takes a deadly turn when he finds the cult worships a corrupted Black Lantern ring! One that tries to claim Superman as its new master! If Superman succumbs…Nekron will rise again!
Cool looking cover. Also a corrupted Black Lantern ring adds a little intrigue here.

POTENTIAL FIRSTS
The Justice League wants the Flash to stop fighting crimes that haven’t happened yet. The Flash wants to keep doing that because he’s saving people. You can see how they’re at an impasse. But when the league tries to shut this new crime-fighting tactic down, Wally doesn’t take kindly to the intrusion. It’s the League versus the Flash–and Wally needs your help to win! Plus, a new villain is revealed.
ONE AND DONE
HA HA HA-PPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE CLOWN PRINCE OF CRIME! It’s the night before Christmas, and only one man is stirring–The Clown Prince of Crime, and he’s all out of time. He’s visited by three spectral forms, but he’d rather they be food for worms. Will these ghosts show The Joker the error of his ways, or will the villain see the end of his days? Paul Dini reunites with one of his longtime Batman: The Animated Series collaborators, Kevin Altieri, to tell this timeless tale of holiday hilarity!
Sounds like a fun read.
