This is a real weird one. Back in July it was announced that Brooklyn Animal Control from IDW was optioned for a TV show. People, of course went scrambling to find issues of the book. I know I went looking for them. However, none were to be found. The reason was there were none printed.
The comic was digital only.
The book is finally coming to print. Brooklyn Animal Control will be out next Wednesday, 12/9/15. The book could finally be seeing print, and here is the speculation, if there is movement on the show.

The drama follows a secret subdivision of the NYPD that serves as social services for the city’s werewolves. The drama will explore the lives of the case officers and the secret, insular werewolf community Kveld-Ulf, who are living deep in the borough. Brooklyn will focus on city politics, immigrant communities and families divided by ambition, secrecy and tradition.
Brooklyn will be written and exec produced by comic book creator JT Petty (Spliter Cell), with David S. Goyer (Batman v. Superman, DaVinci’s Demons), Circle of Confusion’s Rick Jacobs (Spare Parts) and David Alpert (The Walking Dead) attached to exec produce alongside IDW Entertainment’s David Ozer and Ted Adams. The drama is a co-production between Universal Cable Productions and IDW Entertainment.

With a $6.99 price tag Brooklyn Animal Control may not be picked up by all stores and could be under-ordered. It is definitely one to watch.

There should be a name for these premises that are pitched to television and film as “based on a comic book,” where no comic book exists. As with Cowboys and Aliens once these are produced the creators scramble to get the comic book out.
Cowboys Vs Aliens was a weird one as nothing existed. Brooklyn Animal was digital only. But I digress. It should have said (especially in the case of Cowboys Vs Aliens) based on a potential Graphic Novel (notice the rarely say comic book, like they are still embarrassed by it)
