Back in October we ran a piece about the fundraising effort that Larime Taylor has going on trying to raise $40,000 to pay for his wife Sylv’s chemo. You can check it out and donate to the cause here. Our own Agent Poyo put some books up on eBay, sold them, and donated the funds directly to Larime’s go fund me page. We got talking and thought we could put something bigger together, this is the preview for our bigger effort.
If you are not familiar with Larime, he is a handicapped artist who draws with his mouth. He had the incredible book A Voice in the Dark through Image Comics and Top Cow. Larime has been a friend of the site for quite some time and stops by to comment from time to time. He moved last year to Las Vegas to be closer to his family as his wife was dealing with illness and they could needed the extra support. He started doing caricatures on the Vegas strip, by mouth mind you, to help pay the bills. The other shoe dropped not too long ago when they discovered Sylv had cancer. Without insurance, they have to pay out of pocket for the chemotherapy for Sylv, a very difficult task.
Poyo and I contacted Larime with our idea. We were going to send him a bunch of blank sketch covers for him to do sketches on. Free, we pay shipping out, we pay shipping back, we sell the books and donate 100% of the funds to Larime and Sylv’s GOFUNDME fundraiser. We sent out the books and sent ideas for the sketches. We started to get pictures of the sketches and they were awesome. In the process, other artists donated sketches and original works to the cause. Terry Moore, Darwyn Cooke, James Robinson, and Tim Bradstreet have already given us the works. There are more to come.
Here are the preview images for the books that will go on eBay Monday night for auction, these are all in hand, and again, 100% of the money will go to Larime and Sylv. We ask that if you can, please bid. If you can’t please consider giving a few bucks to Larime and Sylv’s GOFUNDME drive. If you cannot donate, please spread the word on any comic book forum you are a part of. We are trying to help get vital treatment for Sylv.
Here are the works that will be auctioned starting Monday night. We will have full details of the auctions Monday night:
Full size images to follow on Monday when the auctions go live.

fantastic idea
I’ve backed multiple Kickstarters by Mr. Taylor and made sure to donate to his GoFundMe when he first posted it. I’ve spoken with him before and he is incredibly nice. I made a post on my blog about the GoFundMe when it first started and will be sure to talk about this stellar auction-event too!
Thanks David, any press we can get I would appreciate.

I don’t know Mr Taylor but I’ve always loved his artwork and the amazing talent he has. I hope chu raises lots of money for him and his wife.
I have couple of these already in mind that I want. I will help with as much as I can. Thanks for the heads up Tony and Poyo.
FYI, there will also be two additional blanks (Walking Dead 115) being auctioned as blanks that Larime will take sketch requests (or ask to be surprised) from the winning bidder before shipping out.
Oh and the Terry Moore original sketch wasn’t named The General, I just started calling it that, because well, it looks like a General. π
Hey Poyo, why won’t u draw on one of those WD115? A Poyo original?
Maybe I should do a sketch on one of the others I have and throw it out there.. Hmmm.. π
I would throw a bid for it too…..
