Here we go again. Seems some things work in cycles.
With the news coming out last night that Descender has gotten a screen writer, copies of the book Descender #1 have been moving well again, according to recently completed sales.
CBR had the story that Jesse Wigutow has been tapped to write the screen play.
From CBR:
“Descender” debuted from Image in March 2015, but a film deal was announced about a month before that, in what was described as a “competitive situation,” with Sony Pictures landing the rights. “Descender” tells the story of TIM-21, a lifelike artificial boy whose machine DNA may hold the key to the origin of robots that have decimated entire planets — making him the most wanted robot in the universe.
Besides the 1A Cover and the more desirable 1B Cover, there were the Four Color Grail’s variant, ECCC Variant, Books a Million variant, Painted Visions, Comics Dungeon, and the color and black and white Forbidden Planet Variants
I bought one today $4.40 and they guy had a bunch of good books for under $5 so the $4 shipping I combined with 5 other decent books was a steal of a deal
Anyone know the print runs on the various different covers. I got the BAM variant.
40,000 combined or so. Need to look back I know I did the print runs on them 4,000 for the Books a Million one I think.

No wonder my buy it now got bought up. Cool news. Glad I saved a copy for myself, I’ll hold onto it for sure now
I still have the 2 that Tony hooked me up with, and I got myself a painted vision 3x signed last September. So this is defenetly great news. Thanks again for the hook up Tony….
I have quite a few tucked away. Anyone still reading it should know it’s a solid comic and series. It’s one of my current favorites and top of my must read list everytime it comes out.
Definitely a solid book. Possibly my favorite monthly book, both story and art.
All smiles on this one. Went into “hoard mode” on #1.
issue 1 was one of the best individual comics ive ever read in my opinion. the rest of the series hasn’t quite lived up to that potential, but stil excellent and a must-read.
also, I know this is unrelated, but did anyone read spread 12 (the molly story)????!!!! wow. just wow. another book that immediately goes into my list of best individual comic issues ive ever read
I don’t want to say I like issue 12 because of the events however it was another solid book and Justin’s writing at the end made it better.
i agree. obviously the subject matter was horrific. but in terms of a comic making you feel such strong emotions, it was incredible. and yes I think Justin’s letter at the end helped give everything perspective
Don’t forget the Eh variant from Gotham Central
Good one. Thank you.
Those are the ones I see listed the least. I guess it is a good thing I have two copies of each of those, along with multiple copies of the other #1 variants. Let’s all just hope this movie gets completed.
One of the only covers I do not have
I got the Eh! Variant when it was first released (I had a hiatus of 15 years from buying comic books and this was the first comic I purchased on my return) – I believe the print run was limited to 1000 copies. Not sure if that makes it the lowest print run of all #1s released
There are two eh variants, the color and the b&w. I believe the color was 1000 copies and the b&w was 500 copies.
meh
What are you meh’ing about.. 😛
ECCC was a tough book to get at the show. It’s the one I put my money into
I like that painted visions variant a lot.
I think I snagged two of it last year.
