We open things up to hear from you. A free for all.
The 87th edition of the open forum!
Rebirth starts to roll out this week after last week’s Rebirth #1… Thoughts?
As always we also want to hear about your weekly pickups.

  2. Ordered the Artgerm Wonder Woman, Flash 1, Wacky Raceland Penelope Pitstop variant, still liking House of Penance.
    Thought Green Arrow was overlooked last week. Picked up the variant but only 1 out of 6 copies was good at my lcs, the others had pink smudges.

      1. Is this suppose to be like fury road? Which cover u getting regular or variant?

      2. Can anybody confirm the first app of the marvel family members? There was some old members back in the golden age but the new family first app is flashpoint 1 correct?

  3. I was hoping that Lumberjanes/ Gotham Academy would have a bit more fire behind it. Kind of fizzling as of now

  4. This weeks pickups………
    Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant… I dont even know if this a comic or a book.lol. But found pretty easily online. Disney bought the movie rights for this recently and is from Tony Cliff a Eisner award winner.$10
    All for the flip box ?
    Marvel premiere #5 x3 1st Shuma think I have two others as well. The Lego set revealed either shows Shuma or another tentacle creature from the Cancer verse.
    Deadpool 1st series #1-12 have #1-3 already in my pc. Picked these up cheap all NM+ copies so will flip these out when the second movie hits.
    Will be getting up early for some Flash Rebirths.

    1. I also really enjoyed the hardcover graphic novel Joker #1 by Brian Azzarello which finally showed up in the mail. Well worth the $10 + free shipping I paid. A good read and looks good on the coffee table.

    Harley Quinn and her gang of Harley’s #3 ( for the wife)
    Deadpool mercs for money #5
    And 2 back issue books the cough my attention Uncanny X-men #210&211 ( the beginning of mutant massacre).

  6. Took a number of long-shot gambles this week
    1 copy of Ultimate Thor 1 JSC. 1:50 of Valkyrie for 20 bucks seemed worth a gamble.
    4 Bucks for X-men Legacy Molina Variant – Legion cover with a < 700 print run
    Gambled on 3 copies of MP 5 (Shuma)
    Paid a bit of a premium for a raw copy of Gotham City Sirens 1. Showed up in great condition.
    1 of each of the Rebirth titles
    Grabbed 3 copies of Uncanny X-men 493 2nd print variant (X-23 joins X-Force) from LCS. Book is selling well on the bay.

    Island 8 (the $7.99 price tag is steep for hit or miss stories in this anthology)

  8. Wonder Woman was flying off the shelves, especially the Artgerm variant with it’s pink smudges. Flash was sold out at both shops I visited.
    Norman quickly sold out at one shop while I was there, another shop had around 5 copies after I picked up one.
    I’m happy though, I was able to nab the Pink Panther #1 Classic Variant at cover.

      2. I had a hard time finding my own pick of the week, Ghoul Scouts, this week. Also, Norman sold out at both my LCS.

      3. Yeah, they were flying off the shelves at one shop. I nabbed two of the better ones (WW Rebirth #1) without so much pink on them but still had pink on them. 🙁

      4. You should of told me Anthony, one shop had Soul Ghouls.. I would have nabbed you one.

          1. Heh. Hopefully nothing you had to do that would compromise your marriage vows.. I mean, I know we all have our comic addictions and would go to really low levels to get what we want.. 😛

    1. Civil War II ASM #1 Peter Parker/Noto variant (note really all that pumped on the CWII tie-ins, but I’m a sucker for Noto covers, so…..)
    2. The Vision #8(?) Dale Keown Variant
    3. Darth Vader #21 JTC Variant
    4. Norman (sure, let’s give it a shot, sounds great)

    1. I really like Noto’s art as well but one thing that really bugs me.. all of this women drawings all look alike.. Same eyes, same nose.. not sure why but man, that just really bugs me.

    I had to order Wonder Woman and Flash Rebirth, as my shop had no extras. My shop also said they won’t get Norman until next week.

    1. Yeah, my shops only had Cover A.. next week it seems Cover B is getting shipped.

  11. Wonder Woman rebirth #1 ( Artgerm variant) – 2 copies with very minimal Pink..LCS had about 5-8 copies left. May see how the flipping is on this one and go back and buy them out.

  13. Detective variant and Wonder Woman #1 standard – main LCS had a limit of 1 copy per title per customer and they’re just about sold out of Tec, Action, WW and Aquaman. Flash sold out before I got there so will have to hit up a couple other shops
    Bin finds for $4 each- ASM JSC 601 & 606. Unfortunately there wasn’t a 607 in the run :/

      1. Man i was debating which variant to get for wacky raceland but non of them are moving at all

      2. What u guys think? Variant or regular covers for detective comics and action comics?

      3. @Jay, really, pick the one you like best. I don’t think Wacky Raceland is a book that is going to heat up now. If it does, it’s going to be a slow burn.

  15. My lcs had about 40 Artgerm WW. Every copy had the smudge so I didn’t pick any up. However, I found Marvel Premiere 5.

      1. Theres a lot of movement on WW variant i cant get a good grip what price to leave it on. Do i keep dropping it? Then moving it up?

        1. Set a price and stick with it. You will drive yourself nuts if you keep switching. Just add best offer if you are willing to accept less.

    Got a couple of good, cheap back issue picks too, including Eternal Warrior 4 (1st bloodshot, looks like it might be 9.8) Bloodshot 0-7 (1st 2 appearances of Ninjak). Nabbed Divinity II #1 1:40 variant for cheap off the ‘bay to round out the week.

  20. Ive so far bought a copy of all the rebirths for my own collection, but I was lucky enough to be the first to walk into my store and pick the only 2 wonder woman variants. Honestly out of all of them this one seems to be the winner so far
