It’s too bad the Alterna Comics new series are not gaining any traction. I have bought all of them and enjoyed most – Lilith Dark, Croak, Mother Russia were the standouts. For $1.50 you get great value.
I was optimistic that should the series have succeeded, it could have put pressure on the bigger publishers.
I agree. They are putting out some great books.
I’m surprised to see that Invader Zim outsold Rick and Morty, but I don’t usually pay any attention so it’s probably normal. (Both titles are filled with zany high jinks that I enjoy, btw.)
I could only guess Invader Zim has more kids following it that might help push it’s numbers. Rick and Morty is definitely geared towards Adults, not kids.
Wait a second. Children… buy comics? (I kid, I kid. (No pun intended.))
You’re point is well-taken and most likely correct, good sir.
“I-I-I over-urrrp-estimated the comic book sales volume driven by the fervor of -urrrrp- our fans in this dimension, Morty.”
Children don’t buy comic books.. children who have parents that goto the comic book store buy their kids comics. Is that better? 😛
I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU DAD!!!
🙂
If you like sci-fi mixed with some Law & Order detective stuff that takes place on Mars, Redline has been a great read I think.
I hope Vampblade gets closer in sales to Zombie Tramp in the future. I don’t want to see it end; I’m liking that book much better than Zombie Tramp at the moment. I wish Action Lab would do some kind of discounted first issue release for their titles, like the True Believers & Image Firsts, etc, to get some new eyes on their properties. A lot of times sales dwindle because the initial audience sticks with the book and then gradually levels off, and not enough new people are drawn in to check it out. And a lot of stores don’t carry their titles, or get so few copies that immediately sell to regulars, people who aren’t as in-the-know may not even realize the books exist.
