Blind Adam's Hidden Gems Vol. 60

Greetings to my Comics Heating Up and Awesomesauce families. As always, I would like to say thank you for reading this each and every week. The Flash #29, Spectacular Spiderman #3, and Secret Empire #9 were my reads of the week. I loved the Defenders and enjoyed it the second time around. Every Rick and Morty episode must be watched to be enjoyed for it’s genius. I thank as a whole DC New 52 combo packs & low grade Whitman variants have nowhere to go but up.
Now, lets make some money on some comics, because you can’t teach that.
1.Love at First Sight #43 – Steve Gerber work pre-Man Thing & Howard the Duck. Final issue of a romance comic and romance comics are #awesomesauce. Romance comics, like no one cares about them anyway, so they make the perfect spec. $40 and up
2. Rick and Morty #2 2nd Print – I belive Rick and Morty is this decades South Park or Family Guy. The show is that damn good. First prints of issues #1-10 are climbing daily. I believe the real spec money is in second and later prints, which are still cheap as all heck $15 and up
3. Flash Iron Heights #1 – Katie Sackhoff was cast as Blacksmith for this season of the Flash this book is so under rated and undervalued. Geoff Johns, Ethan Van Sciver, first Iron Heights. What is the better DCU prison Arkham or Iron Heights? Also, the first Blacksmith. I think season four will deal with the rouges in a major way and I think the Thinker storyline with Blacksmith will be featured. Wicked good times $10 and up
4. Flash #220-225 (Volume 2) – Rouges War.  Would love to see the show do this for season five ends Geoff Johns first and legendary run on the Flash are all cheap buy ins $2-$5
5. Marvel Premier #61 – nothing all that special about this, except for it is an early Starlord appearance. Going to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2 tonight. Starlord is the man and the mvp of the movie and his earily apperances can still be found in the wild $5-10
6. Rolling Stone Magazine #517 – Australian Edition has a early X-Files cover, US edition just has Michael Douglas’ grinning mug. Tough in high grade because of the size of the magazine $5 and up
7. Superman #32 Combo Pack (New 52 series) – first Mr. Oz . Waiting to see the payoff with Doomsday Clock. I still need to read Action Comics #986 but combo packs are tough to find in the wild and are pricey on eBay and online $20 and up
8. The Animaniacs #59 – Wacko, Yakko, and Dot. Hello nurse! Pinky and the Brain. Doctor Scratch and Sniff. Didn’t realize this classic comic book lasted 59 issues. This is tough in the wild, on eBay $20 and up
9. Spiderman Adventures #12 – kids comics based on classic Fox Kids series. Venom appearance, Doc Ock appearance very low print and just awesome $10-20
10. Batman Adventures #13 – I believe all the non Harley Quinn appearances of this series are undervalued and under rated this issue features the Talia, Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter, and is just a fun ride $5-10
11. Daredevil #285 – Bullseye cosplays as Daredevil and causes mayhem and chaos. We could get Bullseye in season three of Daredevil on Netflix and this is in dollar boxes nuff said
12. Amazing Heroes #185 – got to love Amazing Heroes. Great interviews and previews. This one features Neal Gaiman and Sandman and is tough to find $10 and up
13. Amazing Heroes #107 – this issue features a tmnt preview comic in it early tmnt appearance magazine tough in high grade equals money in the bank and we need april oneal cos play and pizza pies $25-50
14. Batman #190 – classic Penguin umbrella gun cover Gotham has made the Penguin a household name and his apperances do well on the back market and this cover is just great $20 and up
15 Daredevil #255 – rumors have it that Typhoid Mary will be the villan for Jessica Jones Season Two. Daredevil #254 is on fire well, my advice is go chase the second appearance of good old Mary Walker and then google search Daredevil #83 from blinky productions as it is a great fan film $10 and up
16. Punisher War Zone #41 – final low printed issue punisher Netflix and Netflix shows for Marvel are #awesomesauce $5-10
17. Daredevil #80 (Volume 2) – Danny Rand becomes Daredevil to protect Daredevil’s secret identity. Defenders, Daredevil Season 3, Iron Fist season two, cheap book to spec upon $2-5
18. Marvel Two-in-One #51 – nothing all that special about this issue, except the great Frank Miller Nick Fury cover can be found in dollar boxes if you dig hard enough. Marvel Two in One gets no real love except for movie spec what gives with that?
19. Rick and Morty #1 ECCC 2015 Variant – Rick and Morty #1 is on fire, white hot, all prints waiting for the convention variant spillover to happen as every convention or 2015 had an exclusive Rick and Morty #1
20. Rick and Morty #1 Four Color Grail Variant – Do you remember 4CG? It was the subscription box that had like 5 or 6 exclusive variants in it each month. This one was one of them and people don’t seem to remember them too much.
21. All-Star Batman #8 Fan Expo Jim Lee Variant – this was sold at the Dallas & Megafest this year. Batman plus Jim Lee variant equals money $20
Have a great week everyone. The blindness training is going great. My time might be getting extended to twenty weeks instead of eight. Then after the training I will launch my comic book project. I love
you guys and I am very, very blessed to have you all in my life

  1. Where did you read that Steve Gerber wrote something in Love at First Sight #43 (November 1956), when he was eleven years old? His first recognized work was previously thought to be Fear #11 (October 1972).
Some of the eBay listings that you link to use the words “Gerber 4;” this is a reference to Ernst and Mary Gerber’s Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books, still one of the most comprehensive and exhaustive forays into the history and art of comic books. Featuring over 20,000 cover images across two oversized volumes. Each cover is assigned a numeric value based on scarcity. Gerber Rating of 4 indicates “less than 2,000 copies exist.”

  2. i read this article quickly after publishing and then have to wait a week for your next one…no fair!!!!
I end up buying something you recommend each week or pat myself on the back when i am lucky enough to have something you highlight. great article

  3. I had first issue of the, “Rick and Morty,” comic that I bought when it first came out and the show was just moderately popular but not a gigantic hit. I sold it when the book started heating-up for about 30 dollars. I was at a comic-show and saw a first-print copy for $200. It stung.

      1. Only sell books you have multiples of unless your selling all your books. I keep one copy of everything I’ve ever flipped it makes for a good trip down memory lane when going through the boxes.

  4. I do miss the Four Color Grail variants… Best comic subscription box in my opinion. When I got the Rick & Morty #1 I just put it aside and didn’t think it would do much. I loved the show I just didn’t see it spilling over to a high dollar comic. Now I’m probably going to send it in to get graded…Easy 9.6 strong possibility of a 9.8

  5. I only pre-ordered 3 copies of Rick and Morty #1 and picked up a couple more, now I wish I had pre-ordered 15 copies.

  6. Just started rick and morty. It’s much funnier than I thought, great show. Now I am recommending it to ppl.
