Tapping into current political zeitgeist, Days of Hate fast-tracked for 2nd printing.

For immediate release from Image Comics.
Bestselling writer Aleš Kot (ZERO, GENERATION GONE), artist Danijel Žeželj (STARVE), and Eisner-winning colorist Jordie Bellaire (REDLANDS, PRETTY DEADLY) tap into current political angst with their all-new maxi-series, DAYS OF HATE. In order to keep up with growing readership for the gritty American thriller tragedy DAYS OF HATE #1 is being rushed back to print.

DAYS OF HATE is set in The United States of America in 2022. The loss that ripped two of its main protagonists apart drove one into the arms of the police state and the other towards a guerrilla war against the white supremacy. Now they meet again, on the opposing sides—and all hell has broken loose.
Kot makes waves as an outspoken politically-charged voice in the comics industry and has cultivated a devoted readership and following. Deciding to create a “spiritual sequel” to one of their biggest hits, ZERO, Kot has channeled their sensibility into the intense narrative behind DAYS OF HATE.
Women Write About Comics called it, “painfully prescient… a striking book,” while Newsarama said of DAYS OF HATE: “…both demands and is worth your attention.”
Žeželj’s edgy, modern art-style brings the DAYS OF HATE realities to life before readers eyes and highlights the unsettling tones of this dystopian series.
DAYS OF HATE #1 will remain available for purchase across all digital platforms, including the Image Comics website (imagecomics.com), the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology’s website (comixology.com), iOS, Android, and Google Play.
DAYS OF HATE #1, 2nd printing (Diamond Code DEC178234) will be available on Wednesday, February 21st. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, January 29th.
DAYS OF HATE #2 (Diamond Code DEC170688) will be available on Wednesday, February 28th. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, February 5th.

  1. I think this proves Image is just doing these 2nd prints as marketing tactics. I don’t know about the rest of you but there were still stacks of these at my local shops this past week. I kept on walking too.. I’m not a fan of books that result in dollar bin trash. I know, I’m hating on this book.. but mostly it’s writer as I’ve lost total interest in the stuff he puts out.

    1. If I like a book, I don’t really care if it’s worthless. There are plenty of examples on my pull list every week that will likely end up in the dollar bin. That said, I’m also not a fan of Kot’s work. I’ve tried to get into it in the past but it tends to be a bit too abstract, even for my eclectic tastes. I, too, walked straight past this book, but it wasn’t due to the subject matter.

      1. Oh… I have worthless books in my personal collection based on good writing or great art. I actually read Days of Hate… I had to force myself in finishing it.

    2. Agreed. Can’t see any local evidence that this book sold well at all. This Image announcement particularly seems like a reprint just to keep the title in the headlines, not because there’s actual consumer demand for this series.

    3. I passed based on the last book i read that Kots wrote. Generation Gone, or something like that. Didnt enjoy it at all.

      1. I didnt even bother with that one. It was Wolf when I decided I was done… I only read Days of Hate cause I got a free digital preview. 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

        1. I didnt realize Wolf was written by him too. If i knew that i wouldnt of picked up Generation Gone. I read a couple issues of Wolf when i first got back into comics, or shortly after. I didnt like it at all. GG is the first book i read knowing who the writer was, and i read one issue and was it wasnt for me. Im not reading anything from image right now other than TWD. They need these titled to go longer than a few issues. I really enjoy Eleanor and the Egret, Hillbilly, these Alterna minis and some of the Hard Case Crime Comics by Titan…other than my regular big two reads.

          1. TWD was my must read each month but sadly I’m even starting to lose interest even in it as of lately. Last two issues I just looked at Anthony’s spoilers to get an idea of whats going on….. Most of my Image reads I’ve switched to waiting for the trades. New books ill pick up the first and or second book to determine if I’m gonna keep reading to opt for the trade ( which I wait to pre-order from Midtown to save 35% ).

            1. I am losing interest in TWD too. I am going to give this last story line a shot, see if its sonething new, if not, itll be trades from here on out.

          2. Oh… Wolf was awful. Surprised you made it through several issues. I didnt even finish the first one. About a third of a way through it I started thinking about other things and just stopped reading it… Thats a bad book if you can’t keep me interested through the first book.

            1. I was just getting back into books and wanted to read some indy stuff. I used to pick up the first arcs of all books, hence why i read 4-6 issued if Wolf. I dont remember shit about it other than forcing myself to read it because i bought it. Lol

              1. Heh, I use to force myself too when I bought it. Now I’m like…. Eff it, I’m not reading this garbage (thats for the crappy books), my time is with more than a crappy boom, even if I’m just staring at a wall thinking about nothing. 🙂

                1. Ive learned to be much more selective in what i spend my money on. Ive learned what i like and dont like now. Rarely do i find myself disinterested in what im reading. I read a few books almost every night now. TV is just so bad these days, i find comics are better entertainment in my down time. Im really enjoying my hobby, from all aspects, at this point in time. Ive been purging my PC and am really focused on only buying what i truly want for me. My ASM legacy will take a lifetime to put together, so, needed to stay focused.

  2. I hit up between 5 and 10 shops weekly to hunt. Every one of them had a stack of these gathering dust. Dollar bin fodder like every other one of Kot’s books. If Image writers would spend more time putting out a quality product and less time injecting their tweets into their books, well….

    1. Amen to that… That’s my biggest gripe for most Image books. New books that never get an ending. Sticking with the established writers helps I think…. BKV, Remender and a few others that seem to put a little more thought into their stories.

    2. I’m sure mcfarlane has set a quota for second prints to make the board or investors think the company is doing good. It’s just manipulating numbers that every company does.
