There has been some heat behind Zero from Ales Kot and published by Image Comics in reference to a couple of tweets and facebook posts. Ales mentioned asked fans if they would like to see a Zero TV show. That was enough to get the speculation going and copies moving on ebay.
Today, a new interview with Ales Kot cam out that gave a little more info (a little has been key with these “leaks.”)
The interview ran over at ComicVine and featured this exchange which gives us another tidbit:
CV: With the story continuing past the first arc and what we’ve seen of Edward Zero’s future, do you have an idea how many arcs you have to tell in between?
AK: Yes. At this point, I suspect it will take about three more arcs before the story is over in comics form. It can stretch or contract as I see fit and/or as the story tells me. What matters is I have to be honest in telling it. Regardless of when ZERO ends in comics form, there is certainly the possibility that he will show up, in a different way, in other media.
So yeah, looks like a TV show is in the works
By the way, here is the print run for the book. Pretty low on most issues, except #1, which really wasn’t bad as it had two covers and a phantom variant, also I think it was returnable.
Zero Print run
Zero 1 – 20189
Zero 2 – 9847
Zero 3 – 8340
Zero 4 – 8046
Zero 5 – 6922
Zero TPB Vol. 1 came out today and can be had for $8.99, if you haven’t read it yet.
Individual copies of Zero from Image can be found on eBay cheap, but I suspect they will not last long if more comes out about a TV deal.
The full interview is here.
i think #1 had 3 covers and not sure how many variants either 1 or 2
ok i just looked. #1 has a b and c. and a variant.
#2 has a and b
#3 a
#4 a and b
#5 a
And the #6 upcoming has 4 a b c and d covers.
#7 will have a and b.
Thanks Random for the issue break down. I was unsure of issue 1 having a third regular cover. I knew it had an a and a b plus the phantom as I had picked up each of those three covers. I left out the subsequent split covers, but yes, you are correct on the break down.
I snagged 3 copies of # 1 (cover c) for a total of 12.00…not bad at all.
Nice. I have access to a case of the Phantom Variants. I am doing a signing with Ales Kott and then later in the year with Paul Pope
