Larry's Comic Pick of the Week

Larry from larryscomics.net has been speculating for a long while now. He used to do a weekly newsletter that was awesome. I am glad the he stops by to give us his pick of the week:
I thought COWL #1 had too many “talking heads”
Trees #1 is obviously part of a graphic novel, thus a limited series.
Those two Image titles are “bellybutton picks”
Everybody has one of those on their list.
I’m going to roll with:
AVENGERS #30
MARVEL COMICS
(W) Jonathan Hickman (A/CA) Leinil Francis Yu
WHAT DID HE SEE?
WHY? It’s the 1st appearance of a character that has “it”
It, being: monster speculator potential.
Not going to spoil. Buy one. Read it.
You’ll fall in love…

  1. “Trees #1 is obviously part of a graphic novel, thus a limited series.”
How many issues are planned does anyone know the info?

  2. I was really hoping Trees was ongoing.
Avengers already on my pull list, maybe I’ll pick up two.

    1. After digging deeper the creators of trees said it has the possibility to be an ongoing story told over several years. depending on its popularity for this first arc. It should be between 6-8 issues.

  3. Who is the 1st appearance character you are referring to in the Avengers 30 issue? I read the whole thing and the only character that I can think of is the future female Starbrand? How is that monster speculation potential?

    1. Agreed. I blind bought this even though I do Hickman in trade only) and have no idea what was so significant in this issue. Was it the time gem?

  4. Old Man Hawkeye stole the show for me.
    Loved him.
Wolverine #66 sells and sells and sells…
