Here’s some of the books we’re likely adding to our pre-orders pulls and subscribes. There’s a lot, June Previews is the previews for independents apparently since Marvel and Dark Horse decided to take a break..

This was a great mini-series. I obtained some digital review copies but I’m still planning on picking up the floppy copies.

It Eats What Feeds It #2

A few weeks into his new job, Kenny has completely fallen for Francois. He spends his days caring for her property and sliding raw meat through the attic door, while spending his nights tending to Francois’ needs in the bedroom.

But late one evening, Francois’ illness gives rise to a painful episode, leading her to desperately send Kenny on a mysterious errand to a rugged bayou bar.

What secret elixirs lie at the bar? Does Francois’ illness connect to what lurks behind that attic door?

I love Mega Man. This is a must pick up for me and any other Mega Man fans out there. There’s an Inhyuk Lee variant as well, cover has yet to be released but I’m hoping he doesn’t let us down.

Mega Man Fully Charged #1 (Cover A – Main)

Mega Man Fully Charged #1 (Cover B – Foil Infante Variant)
Mega Man Fully Charged #1 (Cover C – Lee Variant)

It’s a new beginning for the worldwide culture phenomenon featuring heroes like Mega Man, Rush and Dr. Light trying to save Silicon City from the villainous forces of the Robot Masters, set in the world of the Mega Man: Fully Charged TV series.

After Mega Man’s father Dr. Light is kidnapped, a shocking truth rocks Mega Man’s world as it seems the Robot Masters know more about his secret history than he does. When Mega Man’s forgotten memories of the brutal human/robot war are triggered, our hero is left to question just who he is and if he can trust anything or anyone-including the man he calls father.

Don’t miss a perfect jumping on point for long time fans and new readers as A.J. Marchisello & Marcus Rinehart, with artist Stefano Simeone examine the cost of being a hero, and what it truly means to be human.

I’ve only skimmed my first issue so far but have been told it’s a great read, so I’m looking forward to this series. June Previews gives us the next issue in this series from Cullen Bunn..

Rogue Planet #4

Ancient writings reveal the secrets of the terrible force at work on Lonely Orphan.

The secrets might unlock the means to escape the murderous planet.

First though, the stranded crew of the salvage vessel Cortes must survive a group of aliens who wish to sacrifice them… and the elder god that the aliens worship.

Yasmeen was such a great read. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of this story play out.

Yasmeen #2

During the ISIS invasion of Mosul, Yasmeen and her uncle are stopped by one of Iraq’s infamous fake checkpoints, where Yasmeen’s uncle was murdered.

Now Yasmeen finds herself at the mercy of a family of fanatics, while two years later in America, Yasmeen’s family pushes her back to school in hopes that she would forget the past and move on.

Powerfully written by Iraqi immigrant, Saif A. Ahmed, YASMEEN is a dramatic coming of age drama in a time of war.

This next book is on the must check out as well, coming out from Scout Comics. Why do books with creatures never seem to bore us?

Atlantis Wasn`t Built for Tourists #1

Lovecraft meets Sergio Leone in a modern tale of corruption, family legacies, and nightmarish dread. Lucas Lewis drifts into Atlantis County, Oregon wanting nothing more than a hot meal and a soft bed for the night.

What he finds instead is a small town in thrall to eldritch creatures lurking in the surrounding wilderness, possibly guided by an even more sinister force. Lucas becomes determined to eradicate all Atlantis’s demons, but these monsters are not what they seem. Unfortunately for the monsters, neither is Lucas.

This next book sounds great. A mom goes after her missing daughter. Don’t mess with momma when it comes to her babies!

Bad Mother #1 Cover A
Bad Mother #1 (Cover B – Bradstreet)

A nerve-racking thriller from crime writer Christa Faust and blockbuster artist Mike Deodato Jr. (The Resistance, Infinity Wars). April Walters is a hit-and-run victim of life — a middle-aged soccer mom whose inner fire has been snuffed out by her dreary suburban existence.

When her teenaged daughter goes missing under mysterious circumstances, April embarks on a harrowing mission to find her; a journey that takes her through the underbelly of her suburban community and sets her on a collision course with a massive crime syndicate and its lethal matriarch.

Tested to her limits and beyond, April discovers that hell hath no fury like a mother scorned.

I love steampunk type stories and artwork. This one looks interesting.

Broken Gargoyles #1

In this Dieselpunk post-WWI mini-series, two men come home from the war scarred and forgotten.

One man is looking for redemption as the other looks for revenge.

Both are on a collision course toward each other and nothing can stop them.

Titan is known for putting out comics based on video games. This next one is a must, particularly since there’s a Peach Momoko variant in the mix.

Horizon Zero Dawn #1 (Cover A – Artgerm)

Horizon Zero Dawn #1 (Cover B – Game Art Wrap)
Horizon Zero Dawn #1 (Cover C – Loish)
Horizon Zero Dawn #1 (Cover D – Maulina)
Horizon Zero Dawn #1 (Cover E – Momoko)
Horizon Zero Dawn #1 (Cover F – Blue Line Sketch)

A brand-new comic series based on the award-winning game by Guerrilla. Aloy and Talanah return in a new story set after the events of the game!

Nature has reclaimed the planet. Awe-inspiring machines dominate the land, as humanity fights for survival on this new earth.

Co-created by one of the writers of Horizon Zero Dawn game Anne Toole. Horizon Zero Dawn FCBD #0 ties into this brand-new #1!

I wouldn’t call myself a gamer but I originally bought this game when it first came out and set it aside in the bin. Didn’t touch it until a few weeks ago and now I find myself hooked on it. This is the first game in a while if I start playing, I don’t even realize I’m playing until 1 to 2 AM in the morning.

Highly addictive game, highly recommend it if you own a PS4. And if you don’t, go buy a PS4.

Another story and book I’m looking forward to is the new Devils Highway.

Devils Highway #2

Benjamin Percy (Wolverine) and Brent Schoonover (Batman ’66) present a chilling crime thriller, loosely based on real events, that examines murder in the dark underbelly of America’s heartland.

Sharon Harrow, an elite military veteran with skeletons in her closet and a dark family secret, embarks on a quest to hunt down the serial killer that brutally murdered her father – only to discover that he is just one piece of a national network of evil that snakes across the country and hides in plain sight. To catch the Devil, Harrow must first embrace and unleash the darkness within.

This next book is by Dan Fogler who was on The Walking Dead and the movie Fantastic Beasts. It’s a Heavy Metal book so might be hard to come by and under ordered.

Fishkill #1 (of 4)

Dan Fogler, actor in The Walking Dead and J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts series, lends his writing talent to an original new comic book!

Fish Kill is a love story wrapped in a modern noir that takes our hero, Detective Bart Fishkill, so far down the conspiracy rabbit hole that he starts to question his own sanity even to the point of wondering whether if he isn’t the villain in the first place.

Another book with Dan Fogler at writing.
Brooklyn Gladiator #1 (of 6)

Dan Fogler, fan favorite actor in The Walking Dead and J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts, lends his writing talent to an original new comic book title, Brooklyn Gladiator, published by Heavy Metal.

It’s 2033, New Yorkers survive on scraps in a despoiled America. John Miller is an action hero for the ages, a rough and ready badass who could drink Han Solo, Jack Burton, and John McClane under the table.

Brooklyn Gladiator is a tribute to the comics, films, and experiences that have inspired author Dan Fogler.

The cover artwork on this next I’m really digging.

Bug Bites #1

Children have been going missing in a quiet, idyllic town. For years, no one had an explanation, until Jolene found her grandmother’s cookbook and the desire to find her best friend Simon, before it’s too late!

From the wonderfully weird mind of Corinne Roberts comes Bug Bites, a mini-series about the bug-eat-kid world existing beneath our feet!

Sounds like my type of Cardinal..

Cardinal Dagon #1 (of 3)

Enter the Cardinal, a scoundrel.

He loves women; he sings karaoke, has bad taste and goes around like a gigolo and a dandy.

After the death of the Pope, it’s entirely up to him to bring about the ruin of Earth, in his own way of course.

For all you lonely comic book nerds out there (or if it’s just a guilty pleasure for some of you, come on now, speak up, have no shame if you pick this next type of book up).

Great new series coming out of AWA.

I can’t even recall Bleed Them Dry #1 but seeing the solicitations for issue #2, makes me want to check this one out.

Bleed Them Dry #2

I don’t normally have Zenescope on my radar of picks but I do like their conspiracy themed titles..Although his books were primarily based on wonder and actual science, this solicitation makes me want to re-read a bunch of my Carl Sagan books.
