Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 2/10/21

Every week hundreds of new books hit the stands, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are the picks of the week for delivery 2/3/21

New #1’s
Casual Fling #1 – Mature themed new AWA series. Jennifer Ryan has the perfect life. A loving family. A high paying job in corporate law. A luxurious apartment in upper Manhattan. Then one day she steps out of her marriage…and finds that her new lover isn’t the one night stand she expected. Stalked and threatened with exposure, Jennifer attempts to unravel the true identity of her tormentor, discovering valuable clues in the trail of destruction left in this mysterious man’s wake.

Orcs #1 – New Boom Studios book. Sold out in several of the bigger online stores and could be a great grab

Shepherd #1 – New Scout series, and it seems like all their titles are being announced as optioned. More to the point this is from the Black Caravan imprint which is putting out some great dark books.

Radiant Black #1 – new, universe building, superhero book from Image. Supposed to be the start of a new shared universe. Tread cautiously as stores took notice and there are a ton of ratios for it.

One and Done
White Ash Presents Glarien One Shot – White Ash is probably the best series Scout has put out. Totally worth finding the back issues for the read. Not hyperbole either. Small town that has a secret, elves, dwarves, and more are real, and not everyone is aware of this. This one shot focuses on Glarien, the most dangerous elf to be found.

Notable Reprints
HAHA #1 Cover D 2nd Ptg – Great, simple cover. Mostly selling at cover price with an outlier here and there. Could be a great longer term hold but could surprise people and pop. Sold out at TFAW and Midtown, so check Mycomicshop if you are looking for it.

Star Wars High Republic #1 3rd Ptg – New Star Wars Universe stories. New characters. These will keep going back to print for a while, but like the 2nd print, this had a shorter window so is worth the grab.

Black Hammer Visions #1 Evan Dorkin Variant – Seriously, I love Milk and Cheese, and seeing them on a cover for another series I love is awesome. This is for the PC but could see a little heat if people aren’t able to pick it up.

Ones to Watch
Daredevil #27 – Daredevil has been interesting again, especially since Elektra too over the mantle.

Star Wars Darth Vader #10 – Star Wars books are hot, grab them while they are cheap. The Darth Vader series has been really good this go round.

Future State Teen Titans #2 Cover B – Great Red X cover. We got his appearance last issue (and the reason the 2nd print is going nuts for #1)

Pick of the Week
Future State Teen Titans #1 2nd Ptg – this is a no-brainer. Already going for well more than cover. Check Mycomicshop for it tonight as most other online stores are out or have jacked up the prices.
