#10 THOR #617 | MARVEL | 2010 (Loki Spoiler) The speculation turned out to be true as we witnessed the reveal of Kid Loki at the end of LOKI episode 4. His first appearance in this issue saw a nice boost in sales/price that continued into this week with 34 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 78% and had a high sale of $500 for a CGC 9.8. However, the big question is… was that a one-time appearance or will we see more of him?
#9 AVENGERS THE TERMINATRIX OBJECTIVE #1 | MARVEL | 1993 (Loki Spoiler) This issue features the first appearance of Alioth… who we saw in LOKI episode 5. Like Kid Loki, this may have been a “one and done” type appearance. Yet due to this appearance, it sold 35 copies, had a 7-day trend of 225% and had a high sale of $57 for a raw copy. Many sellers are also calling this the “first Council of Kangs”, however that first belongs to Avengers #267 from 1986.
#8 BLACK CAT ANNUAL #1 | MARVEL | 2021 A spillover from last week of Marvel’s new South Korean team, TIGER DIVISION. Continuing heat helped move 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 106% and had a high sale of $20 for a raw copy.
#7 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992 This week, Spawn #1 sold 36 copies, had a 7-day trend of 107% and had a mega high sale of $5,100 for a CGC 9.9. With such a massive print run, there’s always a better chance to extract some 9.9’s out of it. Still, it’s rather staggering to see a book that was once hailed as one of the horsemen of the comic book industry apocalypse (the infamous “90’s bubble”), to now flourish with high demand and have high huge price tags like this top sale. The kicker is that this isn’t even the highest. A 9.9 sold back in March 2021 for almost $8K.
#6 SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #1 LCSD FOIL | BOOM | 2019 As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, “Trevor Macy and Mike Flanagan are co-writing a pilot adapting the Boom! Studios horror hit for Netflix.” This was quite possibly one of the worst kept secrets as it was strongly rumored back in February. However, this confirmation kicked up sales across the board for this already scorching hot series. With sales so high for the first print, variants, and subsequent printings… eager buyers always turned to the most affordable and helped this LCSD move 39 copies with a 7-day trend of 115% and had a high sale of $185 for a CGC 9.8.
#5 WHITE #1 | BLACK MASK STUDIOS | 2021 Another spillover this week, this new issue from a re-emerged BLACK MASK STUDIOS was instantly hot when copies hit the aftermarket. However, despite prices dropping this week, it is still a solid seller with 39 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 72% and a high sale of $81 for a raw copy.
#4 AVENGERS #2 | MARVEL | 2016 There is SO MUCH speculation around Kang right now. Depending on who you follow, many are mentioning all the various iterations of Kang… including Rama-Tut and Immortus. This cover took off this week due to it featuring all of them (including Iron Lad). Again, this is a rather new and interesting collector trend where the market is so unsure of the spec, that they play it neutral with a cool cover (granted, Alex Ross sure did nail this one). This issue sold 46 copies, had a 7-day trend of 244% and had a high sale of $25 for a raw copy.
#3 SLAY BELLS #1 | BAD IDEA | 2021 Bad Idea might be shuttering, but their titles continue to capture high aftermarket demand. Slay Bells, one of Bad Idea’s “Final Five” series, sold 54 copies, had a 7-day trend of 131% and had a high sale of $19.99 for a raw copy. The gold button pin will help push some of these sales to $200+.
#2 INFAMOUS IRON MAN #1 | MARVEL | 2016 This first appearance of the 3rd (and most recent) Tony Stark A.I. is rumored to feature Robert Downey Jr. as the A.I. for Riri Williams in the IRONHEART series. This persistent (and strong) rumor sold 55 copies, had a 7-day trend of 192% and had a high sale of $48 for a raw copy.
#1 X-FACTOR #10 | MARVEL | 2021 The “death” of Scarlet Witch was a HUGE driver of sales both last week and this week. While it sold 63 copies, had a 7-day trend of 54% and had a high sale of $17 for a raw copy… prices have recently sold for under $8.
