The movie adaptation of Boom Studio’s comic book Malignant Man has gotten a writer. Malignant Man is a part of the first look deal that was signed with Boom Studios when Two Guns was signed.
Writer Zak Olkewicz has just been hired to adapt James Wan’s graphic novel Malignant Man for Fox which Wan plans to direct and also produce with Boom! Studios’ Stephen Christy and Ross Richie. The project was set up at the studio last summer. The story follows a terminal cancer patient who realizes that his tumor is actually a parasite and after given otherworldly powers, he must battle an army of evil buried beneath society’s skin while learning things about his own past. the original artistic team on the comic book deserve credit as well. Wan created the characters and story and Michael Alan Nelson wrote the comic book and Piotr Kowalski drew the series.
Full sets of Malignant Man go for around $30. Individual issues can be gotten for less.
