The Top 10
1 The Ghost Fleet #1
Here it comes again! Steven Caple Jr. is using this book to launch his banner under Paramount, entitled Grey Skies. He is no stranger to directing blockbusters, as he has already directed Creed II and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. This book wasn’t written by a nobody either; Donny Cates wrote this book with art by Daniel Warren Johnson during their early days in comics. This project has a ton of positives going for it, and fans are excited to chase down the first issue of the series! We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 427% with a high sale of $26 for a NM copy and a current raw VF FMV of $20. (Keep track of GHOST FLEET in our Status Tracker)
2 Birds Of Prey #23 – Rian Gonzales (1:25)
There was a time when magazines printed paper dolls that could be cut out and folded to put the “doll” into many different outfits. It was long before the art style became a popular trend on comic covers. Now, these types of covers bring back that nostalgic and retro style, a style that has become increasingly popular. Rian Gonzales gives Barbara the paper doll treatment, illustrating both of her identities. Gonzales even throws in chibi versions of Nightwing and Barbara! The cover hit all the right notes and is quickly amassing popularity on the aftermarket. We tracked six copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 57% with a high sale of $66 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $51.
3 G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero #318 – Francis Portela (1:10)
Negative space variants are a major hit when it comes to collectible comic covers. G.I. Joe characters are now getting the same treatment with the retailer incentive variants. Last month, we saw issue 317 take the #4 spot. These aren’t key issues; they are just great artwork on 1:10 variant covers. GI Joe fans are able to collect each of these variants for a truly great and displayable collection of negative space variants! We tracked 28 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 39%, with a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $43.
4 Street Fighter #1
Street Fighter is taking another run at the movie game! It has had a few forgettable attempts at getting the video game IP onto the big screen. What’s one more shot? This movie has been trending online for very strange reasons; everyone is confused about the casting choices. It is so wildly random that it has piqued many fans’ interest. Orville Peck, a masked country singer who has never been in a film, is set to play Vega. David Dastmalchian, Polka-Dot Man from Gunn’s Suicide Squad, is set to play the hulking M. Bison. We also have comedians, WWE stars, and rappers galore. What exactly is the vision? We will see in 2026! Until then, collectors are picking up a copy of the hit game’s first comics on the aftermarket! We tracked 32 copies sold, with a 7-day growth trend of 52% and a high sale of $160 for a CGC 9.8 copy, and a current raw VF FMV of $7.
5 Hyde Street #7 – Sean Von Gorman – Cereal Box (1:20)
This book jumped from #12 last week to a Top 5 contender! It’s a great and unique cover to add to anyone’s collection. The cover screams Saturday morning cereal in front of the TV. The cereal box treatment must have hit the nostalgic bone for even more fans over the past week, as this 1:20 retailer incentive continues to make waves across the aftermarket! We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 38% with a high sale of $65 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $60.
6 The Hood Vol.1 #1
The Hood has been a major point of interest when fans discuss Ironheart. What most thought was a delve into more tech wars was instead mixed with mystic arts. The Hood was a good contrast to the show, and many fans came around on the character. While it had a rocky start, the series had a strong finish with many open-ended questions left for the future of the MCU. And all those questions started with Parker Robbins, aka The Hood. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 54% with a high sale of $189 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $33.
7 The Omega Men #3
Lobo is a top hit this week! Jason Momoa’s casting originally sent Lobo’s first appearance on a rampage across the aftermarket. As new information is released, we have seen this book reappear on our lists. However, this week doesn’t mark any new news or rumors about Lobo. It does make the debut of Supergirl, Lobo’s on screen debut, officially less than a year away. The uptick in Lobo interest could also be related to the Superman review embargo being broken. As many know, Superman is a cornerstone of the new DCU, and the film has to be good to continue building on that universe. A reviewer accidentally broke the embargo restriction but had nothing but good things to say about the film! Maybe this was enough to give fans hope that Lobo will be done right! We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 36% with a high sale of $255 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $69.
8 Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars Vol.1 #1 – Direct
This uptick in sales could be because Avengers: Secret Wars is gaining traction, and fans are preparing by picking up the first issue of the comic series. However, the other likely reason is a sadder one. This past week, the comic book world lost a legend in Jim Shooter. Editor-in-chief at Marvel and father of Valiant, Defiant, and Broadway, Jim Shooter was also the driving force behind SECRET WARS. He believed in the strength of crossovers and launched the series alongside a tie-in toy line. As fans remember his contributions, they also go to the aftermarket to add a piece of this comic giant’s legacy to their collection. We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 38% with a high sale of $238 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $26.
9 Invincible Iron Man #9 – Mike Deodato – Regular
Ironheart on Disney+ may have started off with poor reception, but it ended with a bang. The Rotten Tomatoes scoring has also drastically improved now that the series is over. Without giving any spoilers, it looks like Marvel has huge plans for Riri Williams in the MCU. Everything from the introduction of a major villain to a final costume detail that leaves an ominous cloud over Riri’s future… It all leads back to Marvel hinting at much bigger plans than we originally thought. With the finale revealed, fans are rushing to pick up a copy of her first appearance! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 31% with a high sale of $170 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $32.
10 Detective Comics #880 – Jock – Direct
A modern age masterpiece! That’s what many fans think of when they see this unforgettable image, featuring the Joker’s maniacal face created through the use of hundreds of bats. It’s a haunting visual, representing the villain’s obsession with Batman. It is such an iconic piece that a collector recently purchased the original artwork at a Heritage Auction for $288,000! While that collector happily showcases the original piece, everyday collectors are hunting down this comic book cover! We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 17% with a high sale of $419 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $151.
