RUNNERS UP

11 The Omega Men #3
Superman’s success has created a renewed faith in the future of the DCU. The casting of Jason Momoa as Lobo was the first step in the right direction for many fans. The initial rumor of the casting caused the first surge of interest in this book. The official casting announcement followed, and then a leaked set picture of Lobo (later revealed to be AI). Now that Supergirl is the next film to hit theaters for the DCU, fans are even more keen on hunting down Lobo’s first appearance. We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 37% with a high sale of $295 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $82.

12 Uncanny X-Men #17 – Ejikure – Virgin (1:50)
What an epic introduction to a new villain for the X-Men to face. Mutina debuts as a horror film character in the series. However, the true monster is the actress behind the mask. Through a series of sleuthing, it is found out that she lives a double life as a perpetuator of mutant-hate online. While it looks like she may physically threaten some of the X-Men, the book ends with an eerie warning that the X-Men have “never faced anything like her”. A great villain introduction, great costume design, a phenomenal cover by Ejikure, and a 1:50 retailer incentive to boot! This book has all the right stuff, and fans are hunting it down! We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 11% with a high sale of $95 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $68.

13 Superman #680
Who’s a good boy?? There are many hit characters in the latest Superman film but few flew higher than the super dog himself! Krypto was a huge star and stole the show in so many scenes. The end credits scene of the film also shows that Krypto has a larger role to play in other DCU movies. It looks like we won’t have to wait much longer before we see this super dog take to the big screen again! While fans wait for his return, they are hunting down this iconic Krypto cover! We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 4% with a high sale of $225 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $31.

14 Superman #330 – Whitman Variant
If you think you’re seeing double, it’s probably Superman’s hypno-glasses. Yes, this book also features in our #3 spot this week. This cover’s popularity comes from it being a Whitman variant. While the original cover features a barcode, this cover features a flying Superman image in the corner box instead. In case you didn’t know, Whitman variants are special editions, distributed by Western Publishing under its Whitman brand in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They were sold in plastic-bagged multi-packs in department stores, toy stores, and other non-traditional outlets. While the interior content is identical to the regular versions, their different distribution method resulted in lower print runs. This rarity usually attracts more collectors than the standard covers. We tracked seven copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 100% with a high sale of $38 for a VF copy and a current raw FN FMV of $5.

15 Superman Treasury 2025: Hero For All #1 – Movie Cover
There was a point in time when photo covers on comic books weren’t all that popular. In recent years, we have seen the popularity of these nostalgic photo covers take off on the aftermarket. Superman is no exception. Except this time, the photo cover is from this generation of comics. It was a special movie cover to commemorate the release of the new film, and it was a hit! What also helped this book take off was the tons of positive reviews about the story. It is an unfolding and clarifying history of the Man of Steel, set against a huge alien invasion with action-packed sequences. It’s also a jumbo-sized 70+ page story! What’s not to love?! We tracked eight copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 10% with a high sale of $25 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $17.

16 Superman Treasury 2025: Hero For All #1 – Bruno Redondo – Regular
This jam-packed issue is being touted as one of Superman’s best stories. Superman rallies the Justice League against an alien invasion on Earth. On the surface, the premise doesn’t sound too unique. However, the aliens attack Superman both physically and mentally, forcing false memories into his mind as he fights to recall his true history. It is an interesting approach to the Man of Steel and a very well-received style of storytelling. The book has been making strides online thanks to the great writing and the hype around the debut of the new Superman film. We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16% with a high sale of $22 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $17.

17 The Man Of Steel #1
During the Golden Age of comics, Superman was undisputed. He consistently outsold characters like Batman and Wonder Woman. After a short lull, Superman shot to stardom again with the Death of Superman event, making that issue the best-selling comic of all time. Before that was released, there was a short mini-series featuring the Man of Steel. While the cover itself is a fantastic one, this also marks the first appearance and origin of a post-crisis Superman. John Byrne took the opportunity to bring the hero into the modern era and, in doing so, breathed new life into Superman comics. It’s a great issue to add to a collection. We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7% with a high sale of $115 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $8.

18 G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero #318 – Francis Portela (1:10)
G.I. Joe has been releasing retailer incentive covers featuring negative space artwork. Every ratio cover that releases has seen a huge demand from collectors. This book was released and was the #3 top-selling book of last week. It may have lost steam this week, but that can be attributed to the massive hype surrounding Superman. It still is phenomenal artwork and, for many completionists, a must-have for a G.I. Joe collection. We tracked seven copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 2% with a high sale of $60 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $41.

19 Darkstalkers X Street Fighter: Blood Throne #1 – Alex Ahad (1:5)
While Street Fighter is making headlines for all the strange casting decisions, this comic is making its own debut. This issue debuted last week, and the retailer incentive was a massive hit. It is the only retailer incentive to have been released with the comic; no other incentives exist at a higher ratio. Even if they did, Morrigan fans are hardcore collectors of the character, and this book is a unique piece of art to add to her featured covers! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 18% with a high sale of $11 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $9.

20 I Hate Fairyland #42 – Skottie Young (1:10)
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Skottie Young take a top spot on our list. His covers have a huge following, and it looks like he struck gold with this artwork. This issue, in a series of his own creation, features a unicorn (not a horse) taking on the role of “Hellboy”. It may be hard to see at first, but there is a severed horn between the ears. The cover also pokes fun at Disney’s Finding Nemo, with a little clownfish on the bottom exclaiming, “Find me.” This cover screams Skottie Young and his distinct humor that made him so popular with fans! We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 31% with a high sale of $14 for a NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $10.
