RUNNERS UP
11 Absolute Batman #2 – Nick Dragotta – Regular
As the community continues to embrace Absolute Batman, we’re seeing more back issues make this list. Collectors are aiming to fill out the run before it stretches too far. One of the major appeals is that nearly every early issue debuts a new major player. This is mostly due to it being initially planned as a limited run, and they had to get these characters out in front of the readers in a hurry. Now that the run has been expanded, these characters introduced early are becoming quite the hot commodity. We tracked 31 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 18% with a high sale of $112 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $18.

12 Watchmen #1
This is an interesting one. With the reported sale of HBO to Netflix, the entertainment sector is in flux. Where Watchmen fits into the story is theoretical at best, with some coincidental public conversation pushing it along. Earlier this year, it was announced that V for Vendetta was getting a reboot on HBO. Alan Moore created that IP and also created Watchmen. It got a sequel series back in 2019 and was supposed to get more seasons, but then, nothing. However, Tim Blake Nelson, AKA Looking Glass, recently reflected on the series and whether he would return in an interview. It’s been quiet on the Watchmen on the screen front since the animated features last year. Collectors are already discussing the possibility that we may see those planned seasons make it to the screen, or even a full-blown reboot. All in all, it’s a classic book that has influenced a ton of media (with a recent IT: Welcome to Derry homage), and one collectors often pick up. However, this may be one of those tea leaf situations, with collectors aiming to get ahead before a potential announcement. We tracked 9 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 91% with a high sale of $145 for a CGC 9.4 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $47.

13 Predator #1 – Chris Warner
Predator: Badlands has done quite a bit to reinvigorate the Predator franchise, and those in power are aiming to capitalize on that. But nothing beats the original, or at least, the first appearance of Predator in comics! So much Predator lore has been developed within the numerous Predator comics out there, and some of that is being translated to the big screen. Exciting times, comic fans! We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 19% with a high sale of $460 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $104.

14 Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1 – Nick Dragotta
This book went nuclear when it dropped, mostly for the arm snap shindig. It ballooned in price, with numerous collectors opting to bow out until it cooled down a bit. Now, with the second print on the horizon, prices have cooled a tick, allowing some collectors the ability to hop back in the mix to secure a copy of the first print. We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 10% with a high sale of $81 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $24.

15 Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1 – James Harren
While DWJ and Nick Dragotta’s covers went insane on the aftermarket, this iteration from James Harren hasn’t been discussed as heavily. Currently, of all the first print covers, this book’s FMV sits the lowest. Part of that is likely accessibility, as most LLCSs aren’t going to order every version they can get their hands on, especially when they’re purely speculating. Another is likely taste, as Harren has a distinct art style, which may not be everyone’s flavor. Still, it’s an awesome book for those looking to secure the annual! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16% with a high sale of $25 for a Raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $20.

16 Grim #1 – Flaviano – Regular
Back in 2022, this book was insanely hot and viewed as the next book in the SiKTC world to get an adaptation of some sort. It took a few years, but that announcement recently came, sending this book back into the forefront for many collectors. Copies changed hands like crazy, but this market moves quickly! It’s cooled down dramatically, with numerous collectors opting to secure a copy now. We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 14% with a high sale of $105 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $16.

17 Absolute Batman #15 – Jock (1:50)
This book hasn’t even dropped yet, and pre-sales are heavy enough to land this book on our list, with an FMV above ratio to boot. Collectors have known this book was coming for a while, as the talk surrounding Absolute Batman has been mostly on the Joker since the first images of him hit the internet. It drops this week, and it will be interesting to see how it tracks once it hits collectors PC’s. We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 3% with a high sale of $155 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $67.

18 Venom: Lethal Protector #1 – Regular
Venom has a pretty convoluted backstory, but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of collectors’ favorite characters. Heck, he is even taking a turn as Spider-Man in comics right now, along with numerous other storylines that push the boundaries of the character! That’s got him on the brain for many, and a perfect time for them to circle back around and secure the first issue in Venom’s first ongoing title. We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 125% with a high sale of $286 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $25.

19 Spider-Man #1 – Todd McFarlane – Silver
This is one of Todd McFarlane’s most famous works and was an introduction for many fans to the man. We’re hot on the heels of a recent private signing for Todd McFarlane at CGC, and some copies are hitting the market. But with the signing now sold out, some are throwing extra copies they planned to get signed online for a good price, and there are always buyers! We tracked 39 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 103% with a high sale of $68 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $12.

20 Spawn #1 – Todd McFarlane – Direct
Tons of collectors were snagging this book up for the McFarlane signing at CGC. But, the numbers being submitted must be astounding as they closed the event as “sold out”. Some who missed the deadline are listing copies online to get rid of. Others are buying, as this is, or at least is one of, Todd McFarlane’s most famous works, and one that has made its way through nearly every collector’s PC. Spawn is the aftermarket King! We tracked 37 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 12% with a high sale of $159 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $30.
