It’s tax day.. err.. new comic book day, the best day of the week. For those that owe taxes, my sympathies go out to you as I know you’d rather spend that hard earned cash buying more comic books. For those that got returns, splurge a little and buy more than you usually buy this Wednesday.
Anyways, this weeks picks are slim.. nothing really stands out as a spec hit but you know how this game goes, anything could surprise us by the end of the day or week…
Here’s my own picks this week though, mostly what I think will be good reads or just must haves…
Archie vs Predator #1 Francesco Francavilla Variant (Archie Comics) – If you can find it at cover, all power to you. You can’t pass up a sweet Francavilla cover…
Tithe #1 (Image) – New age Robin Hood story.. stealing from the powerful churches of today to give to other worthy causes.. if your religious or not, seems like it could be an interesting read. We’ll see how well it holds up though, I personally get attracted to some of Matt Hawkins stories but then lose interest fast, cutting them from my pulls after the 3rd or 4th issue is released..
Aquila #1 (Rebellion) – Romans, Spartacus, Gods, Revenge.. yeah, could be interesting. It’s from Rebellion so expect small print run as well.
Noteworthy Pick:
Grievous Journey Of Ichabod Azrael #2 (Rebellion) – Finally read #1 and I must say, not a bad read at all. Left me wanting #2.. check it out for sure. If you like the after life revenge type of stories, this is one of them.

RUNLOVEKILL #1?
I wasn’t sure about that one. The description to me didn’t seem groundbreaking or anything new, was one reason I didn’t put as a pick. I still picked it up though, I hope it ends up well, art looked good.
Just read it this morning, not too bad. The art is cool but it’s still in the probation period.. #1 got me interested enough to pick up #2 but I’ll certainly go from there..
You know what didn’t grab me at all, Rebels from Brian Wood. I wanted to like it but didn’t.
I can see how it’s not for some. I liked it, but I love Revolutionary War stuff though as well. I think it’s gonna get better though, first issue was the slow back story I think.
It’s was paced nicely but the main character I didn’t see the transition between the little boy and him as an adult.

Guess he’s limited, I think it’s an 8 issue series.
