FOC PICKS FOR 7/20/26

Hello my CHU friends! I’m on VaCa in Maine this week, heading back today. But had a few moments while sitting around to gather a few highlights for this week.

It’s not much…pretty lame week overall. Seems to be a trend lately, although that doesn’t mean there aren’t good stories out there being told. These picks are just more about covers, first appearances, gimmicks and stuff of that nature you may want to pre-order.

SDCC is here, Terrificon is around the corner. So people are probably saving up for con exclusives (nearly 600 exclusives at SDCC alone) and con swag anyway! Have a great time if you’re going!

NEW ONES

MINISERIES PREMIERE! Yumi is in love. Yumi is lethal. When her MI6 boyfriend disappears, Yumi storms the agency – hacking their network, dismantling their operatives, and setting everything on fire. There she finds her first ally… a fully AI Lamborghini that’s built less like a car and more like a WMD. The anti-spy thriller begins here.

Regicide #1

SERIES PREMIERE A DOOMED MARCH THROUGH TRANSYLVANIA… A farmhand lives a simple life until village elders insist he set out for the capital with a dangerous stranger. Their mission? Kill the murderous viceroy of Transylvania! It’s Dracula meets BERSERK in this dark fantasy series full of sexy entities and betrayal.

The Blind Bag Variant has gotten some press about it.

NOTABLE REPRINTS

Lara Croft made her debut in the GI Joe universe in this issue, but was not on any of the covers. People gravitated to the 1:10 variant as a result. Doubt this will catch anyone off guard, but could be a long term hold if Tomb Raider vs GI Joe becomes a thing.

Adventure Comics #247 Facsimile Edition

THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES! Written by Otto Binder, Henry Boltinoff, Ed Herron and Jack Miller Art by Al Plastino, Henry Boltinoff, George Papp and Ramona Fradon The Legion was/is/will be founded to honor the high ideals set forth by the greatest hero of all time/a complete stranger/a friend who’s trying out for membership! Time-travel can play havoc with sentence structure, but that’s nothing compared to the trials Superboy must go through when three super-teens from the future extend an invitation to join their club. A friendship and legacy that will transcend the bounds of time itself starts right here–with the very first appearance of the Legion of Super-Heroes!

If this is a true facsimile they would make this oversized like the original. But I am not sure it is. Either way, it does have a foil variant.

Hellraiser #1 Facsimile Edition

Go beyond the horror that began in Clive Barker’s darkly malevolent films and delve into an experience beyond limits! In this one-to-one reproduction from horror legend Clive Barker, Pinhead sets his sights on a new goal…to become human again. Sending Pinhead on a journey unlike any other in the Hellraiser mythos, this issue represents the start of a bold new era for Hellraiser! From the mind of New York Times–bestselling author Clive Barker with blockbuster writer Christopher Monfette (Star Trek: Picard, 12 Monkeys) alongside artist Leonardo Manco (Dr. Doom, Apache Skies) providing the disturbing visuals, a true collector of ancient oddities and demonic devices can’t possibly resist a true reproduction such as this!

GIMMICK OF THE WEEK
