TET #1 –IDW (Limited Series 4 issues)
Description
“(Wr) Paul Allor (A/CA) Paul Tucker
Eugene Smith is desperate to leave Vietnam behind, and begin a new life with the woman he loves. But when a fellow Marine is brutally murdered, Eugene’s plans are thrown away, forever. All’s fair in love and war, right? Writer Paul Allor and artist Paul Tucker present an extraordinary, heartfelt story of hard-boiled crime and star-crossed romance, set at the height of the Vietnam War and the decades that followed.”
Why I Like it: I am a sucker for a good Vietnam story, I’m definitely intruded by the premise for some reason, I want to see how the ending turns out
TET
Head Lopper #1- Image –Head Lopper is a self-published book by Andrew Maclean that came out in 2013, and had a successful Kickstarter campaign.
A somewhat tongue-in-cheek swords and monsters comic.
Nomadic warrior, Norgal and his unlikely companion, the severed head of Agatha the Blue Witch, have arrived on the rocky shores of the Scottish Isle of Barra. They come prepared to slay the sea serpent but can they survive all of the island’s deadly trials? And can they survive each other’s company?
Why I like it: This book really stands out to me because of the laid back art style, and I like to see ground up projects like Humans and countless others go from a dream to a big name publisher, this book also has an aura about it. Can see big things happening with this book. Issues of Head Lopper (the 1st series) can be found at Andrew McLean’s store.

Enter into the world of Alexandra Wagner. She murdered her brother when she was child. She was institutionalized. Alex believes she protected of our world against “The Outer Darkness” with the help of her brother in the Otherside. Obviously, these are just deliriums, but, how… and why… she vanishes from the institution only to reappear later?
A new horror miniseries by El Torres, this time exploring the depths of a fancy, modern mental institution which hides more than a normal person could see… but Alexandra Wagner isn’t normal. And her madness is the only thing that can save us.
Introducing the awesome art by Guillermo Sanna. “We wanted this book look special”, says El Torres, “and Guillermo came up with the idea to use just black, white and red tones. And it looks primal, scary. I always wanted to develop a horror comic in black and white, and the red tones introduces the mood I wanted to do with all the insanity we depict here.”
Why I like It: Talk about a total Mind twister…this is a book that’s going to have you on the edge of your seat, Check out the 1st 2 pages …WHOA

Why I like it: Founder of the Alamo City Comic Con Alfredo “Apple” De La Fuente started up his own comic brand and has some good looking books on the horizon. The Art in this book looks incredible and the character looks very good, this company could be one to watch in 2016 be on the lookout for GEARS AND BONES #1 coming 8/26/15 from the same company
MOON STREAK
Two Books from the Big 2 made my list this month as well
Batman #44-DC
It’s the origin of new villain Mr. Bloom! In a tale from Bruce Wayne’s past, Batman must investigate a vicious crime in the shadowy area of Gotham City known as the Narrows. Don’t miss this special issue illustrated by superstar artist Jock (Wytches, GREEN ARROW YEAR ONE)!
Why I like it: Mr. Bloom is picking up a lot of interest on and off the internet, and Origin issues have a tendency to hold value down the line especially if a character heats up

  1. That straight jacket book look and sounds amazing. I am still reading Roman Rituals and man even though they don’t release it every month, I just can’t wait to read the next book. Really good book. And defenetly getting this one.

  2. Yeah sadly my comic shop ruined my #4 copy and still waiting for a replacement. Whether I get it or not, won’t know. So going to check tomorrow to see what’s up then probably hit ebay if they can’t get it for me
