Edge of Spider-verse #2: a comic heating up

This is one that you may still be able to find on the shelves. Edge of Spider-Verse #2 is heating up with the announcement that Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman will be an ongoing series.
The popularity of the first appearance of Gwen Stacy as Spider-woman has driven prices of Edge of Spider-Verse #2 up. Even the regular cover has become a $25 book. The Edge of Spider-Verse #2 Variant with cover art by Greg Land, was a $25 book last week, and is now well into the $100 range.
Again, I have been seeing regular covers on the shelves in several stores and will need to pick a couple up. I would keep an eye out on the first prints as a second print is coming and once the series gets here, this book could continue to rise.

      1. I ordered 4 from midtown originally, 2 weren’t in that great of shape, seems they were likely in bad shape from distributor since the package was good and the two others were NM+.

  1. I’m glad I was able to snag the Land variant for $15 when it came out! That’s one that may stay in the collection.

    1. I almost got one but the art didn’t really stand out to me, I like the art work for the regular cover better to be honest.

      1. I ended up with 5 copies. All bought from a LCS over the course of a few weeks. I’m not the person to snatch up every last copy of a book. I’m holding them for a better return in he future.

      2. I actually prefer the Land cover (and I know people bag on him a lot). The whole “Gwen Stacey as Spider-woman” angle intrigued me so I thought “what the heck? I’ll get the variant too.”

  2. in my opinion this is going to be the hottest “spider” modern issue after #300, there is something about Spider-Gwen that makes me think is going to be big, really really big, i got 4 copies, 1 for my collection, the other 3 at CGC with signatures and little sketches by both creators, my idea its to sell only 2 of those and keep the remaining one for a few years to gamble on it

      1. I submitted the regular cover, and they did little doodles on each one, plus a blank where I got a Gwen commission from Robbi Rodriguez, you can follow me on twitter @nahuelroark
Side note: don’t ask me how or who told me, but all the original pages from the Spider Gwen issue are ruined, a shame, but is true, every single one. 🙁

  3. im liking issue #4 as well..not sure what kind of a spec it will be but the art and story is pretty damn good

  4. I there more than one version of the 1st print? I see some with a reddish background, and others with a black background.
