The Strain ordered by FX

There had been a lot of talk about ‘The Strain’ book and subsequent comic series being picked up by FX for a TV show. Casting news had been coming out for a while.

Well, news was reported last night by IGN that the series is on for July 2014. FX placed an order for 13 episodes. The president’s of FX network and FX productions  Eric Schrier and Nick Grad made the announcement yesterday. The show will start shooting near the end of the month in Toronto.

Prices on the first issue of the comic have already begun rising again. The book was selling nicely for $15 over the summer, not bad for a $1 book, but dipped back down.  Currently it is going for as high as $17 on eBay. A few days ago, issue 1 was not moving and sets of 1-7 could be picked up for $15.

  1. I could never find issues #2 and #3. I picked up #1 for about $10 in the summer and picked up the remaining issues. Just so I didn’t get any gaps while reading, I bought the digital versions of #2 and #3. I have a feeling those might be more scarce than #1.

It’s a great read though, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am enjoying “The Fall” now. It definitely would make a great show I think if done right.

  2. And now since it’s heating back up, it seems more #2 and #3 are available now.. I can have the physical copies for the collection hopefully for a low price before they go up as well. 🙂

      1. I didn’t get a chance to hit up the shops this evening.
Doing some last minute things before the Comic Con this weekend.
I just picked up an X-Men #50 VF and #42 VF.
My goal for this weekend is to pick up some Nice Primo Books.
        I’m a have some paper, so I’m a go H.A.M.!

  3. well I only managed to get the one copy back in Aug paid $6.25 I think I will keep this and see how the series goes. If they start selling for crazy prices then there will be a new hole in my collection lol
