Thanks to UKPondside for the heads up:

Prices are jumping again but there are still some bargains on iZombie on eBay.

  1. I grabbed a pretty good run of these (no 1-3 though) in the $.50 bin a few months back. Read one issue and thought it was interesting.

  2. Yea, I picked up 1-8 (VF+ – NM) for $27…don’t know if that’s too much to pay, but if the pilot is right for the production company, and the movie is indeed made…..CHA-CHING!!!!!!! But then again, I saw a 1-4 set up for $58…so, I personally think I ran across a fairly good deal there?????? Anyway, I snatched them up quick like!
    Who knows?
Oh, and I got the Halloween special (1st appearance of IZOMBIE) for $15…NM!
I’m thinking about finishing off a complete set of 1-28. I figure I can get 9-28 pretty cheap, so who knows. I saw a full set on EBAY for $300 BIN. I wouldn’t pay that, but if you don’t have them, and the movie hits, some people would pay a lot more than that for the full run I’m sure!

      1. Flipper, naw man, not me!
My EBAY presence has a UK footprint, so I mainly try and get books from the UK side…usually go for auctions with free shipping as well. Think about it. If you win 10 auctions per year, and you choose only auctions offering free shipping, then you probably save around 70-100 bucks! How many extra spek books can you get for 100 bucks? As we like to get them as early and as cheaply as possible, that could amount to some serious cash.
I do have an EBAY footprint in the states as well, but I only use that if I like something that I know I won’t be seeing for a while, as I have it sent to my USA address for storage.
I may be getting home sometime this summer, but we’ll see! I can’t wait to check out all the books I have sent to my USA address…IT’LL BE LIKE CHRISTMAS!

        1. I’d have to say that I balked on IZOMBIE in the beginning. I saw you guys hype it right from the start, and I even looked in my normal places and saw some really, really cheap #1-28’s, but for some reason I just couldn’t pull the trigger on this title. For some reason I had the same hangups on this title as I did for Adventure Time, 6th Gun, and Hoax Hunters…I spek’d those books right from penny’s an issue, BUT I JUST COULDN’T PULL THE TRIGGER ON THEM…and look at them now!!!!!!
Sometimes in this game, I’m my own worst enemy. I did grab a #2 and #3 of 6th Gun for penny’s, but I just didn’t get #1…don’t know why. I have since gotten 2 copies of #1 (6th Gun), but I had to pay a bit more than I normally would.
Obviously, I’m really kicking myself for passing on Adventure Time…I even went to youtube and watched a couple of eps…man, I think that is such a cool show, but I still didn’t pull the trigger…strange! And I still haven’t seen a 1st edition #1 issue of AT on EBAY…WHY IS THAT? Is it because nobody trusted this content and didn’t buy them, or is everyone that did get them, holding onto them for the MOVIE NEWS?????
Man, if I had just listened to my instincts regarding Adventure Time, I could have cornered that market right form the start. The funny thing is, and I know this is the reason that I didn’t go head first into AT like I normally do with a hot spek book…An English family friend’s 10 year old daughter is into ‘toons and whatnot, and I was trying to be clever and ‘see what the kids are into’…so, at that time, I saw that Adventure Time was hot in the states, so they were starting to be: COMICSHEATINGUP, so I checked my sources, and found quiet a few sets for cover price, but then I showed the 9 year old the youtube eps of the show, and she said, ‘oww, I don’t like that’! And that was it…I didn’t look at AT books again…didn’t buy a single copy…all because a 10 year old said she didn’t like it!
Siiighhhhh!!!!!!! I hate feeling defeated; moreover, I hate knowing that I made a major GAFF for no real reason at all…just my own ineptitude!!!!!
We live and learn in this game folks…we live and learn!!!!!!!!

  3. …oops, I showed the 10 year old…
Hey, you can’t expect anyone to listen to you if you have Rocky-Road around your lips, and you’re slobbering and spitting at the mouth!

    1. Flipper, this post (January 31, 2014 at 11:38 am) should have gone at the bottom…it’s a dupe; delete if you wish!
