Devil's Hopyard heating up

This one was on my radar and then I missed it’s being released. It was to be a pick of the week and I totally missed it coming out this week.
People have been asking what I thought of Devil's Hopyard #1, and I responded I had been waiting for it. Then I realized it had been released, and then I panicked.
So what is the book about?

Check out the book that has been praised by Robert Kirkman, Geoff Johns, and Brian K. Vaughn! This R-rated noir tale tells the story of a cop who gets pulled into a world of secrets, sin, and superheroes! Featuring art by Spawn artist Szymon Kudranksi and a script by Flash Gordon scribe Brendan Deneen!

Devil's Hopyard #1 from Ardden came out Wednesday and is already seeing a price increase on eBay. The cheap copies, at cover price, sold quickly. The $4.95 copies have been moving next. Copies are now listed at $14.99 and up. Some do start at .99 cents but do not expect them to stay at that price.
There are still copies available at Mycomicshop and copies on TFAW are on back order but will be back in soon. The book is not completely sold out at Diamond, but expect that to change too.
Now I cannot confirm this, but the eBay listings I am seeing are saying a TV show may have been optioned, again, I do not have confirmation of this.
2/12/14 was a good week for comics, and February is starting to look like and uptick in new comic speculation.

  1. What a great week, so much fun specking. I think manifest destiny #4 is going to blow up too due to the Sacagawea cover… And great story!

      1. Probably since the DC 3d cover fiasco. Funny thing, you haven’t even mentioned the two new image #1s that came out!

  2. Went around to some LCBS in my area today ( San Diego). First place had 3 Devil’s Hopyard #1 and 1 Bunker #1. Second was sold out of both. The third place had 3 Bunker #1. Very happy to get these issues at cover plus a few more to come in the mail. The ones in the mail were a little more than retail. When they arrive in the mail. The iron should be hot. Flipping time!!

      1. Yeah, sometimes the art can work with the story and go with the flow but it wasn’t as appealing to me in this issue. The story seemed interesting though, the ending definitely made it so I’ll pick up the next issue as it peaked my curiosity and interest to see where it’s going.
