Annihilators #3 a book to keep an eye on

Here is a bit of advice I really liked this week. It comes to us from our friends at Google+ Comic Book Speculation and Investment Community.
A lot of attention has been placed on Rocket Raccoon due to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie coming out. His first appearance has shot up in price and may be out of range now for a lot of collectors and speculators. Well how about his origin? Well here it is. Rocket’s origin story is given in Annihilators #3. It is currently going for $5-6 on eBay and the Rocket Raccoon variant cover is going for $14 plus. I really think there may be more room in this if Disney amps up the Rocket merch and tie ins with the movie. I mean, come on, Disney is known for cute and fuzzy animporphic animals. Rocket fits the bill.
While you can still find copies and sets of Annihilators #3 for $5+ on eBay, you can also find them cheap on Amazon.
Copies of Annihilators #3 on Amazon start at $1.39 via that link and copies starting at $1.48 here
The Rocket Raccoon Variant can be found on Amazon for $11 Here and here
Again, shout outs to Jason at Google+ Comic Book Speculation and Investment Community for the tip.

  1. My money is on Annihilation: Starlord #1 heating up at some point soon. It features the first meeting of Rocket and Groot and the last page shows Starlord, Groot, Rocket Racoon, Mantis and Bug wearing the Guardians outfits. All of those characters were part of DnA’s Guardians run, it’s just missing Drax and Gammora which makes it hard to call that the 1st new Guardians appearance.

  2. Yeah thanks to Google + community, I bought up a boat load this week and was waiting to see this on here. The regular edition is a good buy at $1.42. I think Mile High had high prices on the variant if memory serves right.

  3. Just picked up 2 Annihilation: Starlord #1 at cover. Thanks for the tip. Also picked up the following RR appearances today for just above cover:
    Exiles (2001 1st Series Marvel) 73 ,Marvel Age (1983) 25 , Marvel Super Hero Contest of Champions (1982) 3, Quasar 15, Universe X (2000) 5

      1. That Drax story is really good and introduces Cammi who would have a good chance of showing up in a future GOTG movie. Not worth $25 right now though.

  4. I would also like to point out that Annihilators #4 variant is a Rocket Raccoon and Groot cover by Skottie Young. I could see that issue being very popular if issue 3 gets a lot of notice. Perhaps it would be wise to pick up the whole variant run which feature Rocket and Groot covers.
